1.6DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

  1. Comply with requirements of referenced standard and manufacturer's written instructions.

Retain first paragraph below for prefinished doors and high-quality unfinished doors.

  1. Protect doors with opaque plastic slip sheets between each door, at minimum.
  2. Mark each door ontop rail with opening number used on Shop Drawings.

1.7FIELD CONDITIONS

Retain first "Environmental Limitations" Paragraph below if humidity is not controlled during occupancy.

  1. Environmental Limitations: Do not deliver or install doors until spaces are enclosed and weathertight, wet work in spaces is complete and dry, and HVAC system is operating and maintaining ambient temperature and humidity conditions at occupancy levels during remainder of construction period.

Retain "Environmental Limitations" Paragraph below if humidity is controlled during occupancy, and retain one of three relative humidity ranges or insert another based on local climatological data. First applies to Ontario, Quebec, and most of U.S. Second applies to damp coastal areas of southern U.S. and the Maritime Provinces. Third applies to dry southwestern U.S. and to Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. For unfinished woodwork, narrower ranges will be required to maintain optimum moisture content. See map and discussion about relative humidity and moisture content in the AWI's, AWMAC's, and WI's "Architectural Woodwork Standards."

  1. Environmental Limitations: Do not deliver or install doors until spaces are enclosed and weathertight, wet work in spaces is complete and dry, and HVAC system is operating and maintaining temperature between 60 and 90 degF (16 and 32 degC) and relative humidity between [25 and 55] [43 and 70] [17 and 50] <Insert numbers> percent during remainder of construction period.

1.8WARRANTY

When warranties are required, verify with Owner's counsel that warranties stated in this article are not less than remedies available to Owner under prevailing local laws.

  1. Standard Warranty: Manufacturer agrees to repair or replace doors that fail in materials or workmanship, or have warped (bow, cup, or twist) more than 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) in a 36-by-96 inch(914-by-2438-mm) section, within specified warranty period.

Revise subparagraph below to suit Project. Standard manufacturer's warranty generally goes into effect on date of shipment, not date of Substantial Completion.

  1. Warranty shall be in effect during the following period of time from date of Substantial Completion[or from manufacturer's ship date]:

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

Manufacturers and products listed in SpecAgent and MasterWorks Paragraph Builder are neither recommended nor endorsed by the AIA or ARCOM. Before inserting names, verify that manufacturers and products listed there comply with requirements retained or revised in descriptions and are both available and suitable for the intended applications. For definitions of terms and requirements for Contractor's product selection, see Section016000 "Product Requirements."

2.1MANUFACTURERS

Retain one or more of three "Source Limitations" paragraphs below if needed to help ensure product uniformity.

  1. Source Limitations: Obtain stile and rail interior wood doors from single manufacturer.
  2. Source Limitations: Obtain stile and rail exterior wood doors fromsingle manufacturer.
  3. Source Limitations: Obtain stile and rail interior and exterior wood doors from single manufacturer.

2.2MATERIALS

  1. General: Use only materials that comply with referenced standards and other requirements specified.
  2. Assemble interior doors, including components, with TypeII adhesive.
  3. Assemble exterior doors, including components, with TypeIor TypeII adhesive.

"Certified Wood" Paragraph below applies to LEEDv4. Manufacturers certifying products as "FSC Mixed Credit" do not have to use 100 percent certified wood in the products; however, in their total production, manufacturers must use an amount equal to or greater than the percentage of their production that is labeled "FSC Mixed Credit."

  1. Certified Wood: Wood doors shall be certified as "FSC Mixed Credit" according to FSCSTD-01-001 and FSCSTD-40-004.

"Adhesives" Paragraph below applies to LEEDv4.

  1. Adhesives: Use adhesives that meet the testing and product requirements of the California Department of Public Health's "Standard Method for the Testing and Evaluation of Volatile Organic Chemical Emissions from Indoor Sources Using Environmental Chambers."

"Composite Wood Products" Paragraph below applies to LEEDv4.

  1. Composite Wood Products: Products shall be made using ultra-low-emitting formaldehyde resins as defined in the California Air Resources Board's "Airborne Toxic Control Measure to Reduce Formaldehyde Emissions from Composite Wood Products" or shall be made with no added formaldehyde.
  2. Panel Products: Any of the following unless otherwise indicated:
  3. Particleboard: ANSIA208.1, GradeM-2.
  4. Medium-density fiberboard (MDF), complying with ANSIA208.2, Grade130.

Usually retain "Safety Glass" Paragraph below for glass in doors or sidelites, or if glass for doors is not specified in Section088000 "Glazing." Decorative glass may not be required to comply with paragraph below.

  1. Safety Glass: Provide products complying with testing requirements in 16CFR1201, for CategoryII materials, unless those of CategoryI are expressly indicated and permitted.

2.3INTERIOR NON-RATED STILE AND RAIL WOOD DOORS

Retain one or more of three paragraphs below to suit Project. Retain first paragraph for transparent finish, or any of or all three paragraphs belowfor opaque finish.

Retain firstParagraph below if using interior doors complying with WDMAI.S.6A or AWI standards. Retain one of two options. See the Evaluations. Review standard retained and coordinate its requirements with requirements retained.

  1. Wood and Medium-Density Overlay (MDO) Veneered Doors[TypeSRD-#>]: Interior [stock] [custom] doors complying with [WDMAI.S.6] [AWI's latest edition] industry standard for wood stile and rail doors,and with other requirements specified.
  2. Basis-of-Design Product: Subject to compliance with requirements, provideKarona by JELD-WEN; Stile and Rail Wood Dooror comparable product by one of the following:
