JOB POSITION

Title / PeerTutor
This call if for Peer Tutors in Limassol, for the following courses:
-AMAT110(BUSINESS MATHEMATICS)
-AFIN 101 (BUSINESS FINANCE I)
-ABSE 101 (INTRODUCTION TO MICROECONOMICS)
The above courses are taken by students in the following Programs of Study:
  1. Maritime Studies
  2. Accounting and Finance
  3. Business Administration

Duration / Academic Year 2015-2016 (including 2nd Examination Period in September).
Fee / Hourly fee/deduction from tuition
Description of Duties /
  • Provision of small group and individual tutoring services to undergraduate students of the University. In particular, tutors are expected to help other students (tutees) in identifying problem areas and questions they may have on a particular course topic, provide academic assistance in specific subject areas and help tutees develop effective study and learning skills.
  • Tutors are expected to work closely with the Academic Faculty members who teach the courses in order to to obtain course syllabi or materials or to discuss the course content and instruction methodologies.
  • Participate, when necessary, to Peer Tutoring Training Sessions.
  • Completeand return reports of tutoring sessions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work closely and attend meetings with members of the Academic and Organizational Committees.
  • Peer Tutors are expected to adhere to the Rules and Regulations of Frederick University and of the Peer Tutoring Centre.

Work Schedule / Every peer tutor is expected to work at the Center a minimum of 4hrs/week and a maximum of 20hrs/week. The Peer Tutoring Center will be closed during the Examination Periods of January and June but will operate for a week prior to the 2nd Examination Period in September.
Minimum Requirement & desired skills and abilities. /
  • Earned an “A” in the course one is interested in tutoring.
  • Overall CGPA of 8.5/10.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Sense of maturity, patience.
  • Excellent level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Appropriate and professional behaviour at all times.

Job Application Procedure / Those who are interested in applying for the Peer Tutor Position must complete the following two application forms in Greek or in English:
  • “On –Campus General Employment Form”
  • “Peer Tutoring – Employment Application Form”
Both application forms must be submittedby the 21st of October in any of the following offices: 27, 28, or 29 in the Limassol Campus
The
Candidate Selection Process / If your application has been accepted, you will be invited for an interview that will take place on Monday the 26th of October. Candidates will be notified for the interview place and time via phone and email (webmail).
All successful candidates will need to attend a mandatory training.
