(London) Sunset+Vine, the UK-based TV broadcast and digital sports production and media company, which is part of the Tinopolis Group, has been awarded a five game contract by the BBC: the England Women’s four home matches in the FIFA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers, and the SSE Women’s FA Cup Final 2018 at Wembley.

This is the third successive award to Sunset+Vine to produce the England Women’s home games in a major tournament qualifying series following on the 2017 Euro Qualifying and Women’s FIFA World Cup Qualifiers 2015. It will also be the fifth year in a row that Sunset+Vine produces the FA’s showpiece event in women’s football for the corporation.

Under the terms of the contract, Sunset+Vine’s Scotland office will produce live coverage for England’s matches, starting with the game against Russia on 19th September, as well as the production and presentation for the Women’s FA Cup Final 2018. The BBC’s coverage for the qualifiers will be hosted by Gabby Logan who will be joined by ex-England Women’s International and current Arsenal defender Alex Scott and former England goalkeeper Rachel Brown-Finnis as well as England legend Kelly Smith for the first game, which will see England play Russia.

Sunset+Vine’s production will be led by Sarah Greene and will be supported by a team that delivers Premier League, Europa League and SPFL for BT Sport as well as Scottish football for the BBC and BT Sport. The live coverage will be produced by Amy Thabet from Sunset+Vine’s Scotland office.

Sarah Greene, Executive Producer at Sunset+Vine, said;

“We’re celebrating a hat-trick of BBC Sport productions across Women’s World Cup and Euro qualifiers, topped off with five-in-row with the Women’s FA Cup. We are delighted to be working together again and to continue our close association with their coverage of women’s football.

“It’s a testament not only to the rising popularity of women’s football, but also the competencies we possess across big live sports productions, football, in general, and elevating the televising of women’s sports to best-in-class. We relish this opportunity once again to play our part in broadening the appeal of the game.”

The announcement follows Sunset+Vine’s hugely successful production of the ICC Women’s World Cup cricket in the summer of 2017, the final of which attracted the highest ever viewing figures for a women’s cricket match in the UK.
