The Knox City-O’Brien CISD Board of Trustees met on this date in regular session with the following members present: Amanda Duke, Dale Turner, Al Rios, and Scott Lynn

Absent – Clint Lewis, Nick Jimenez, and Jeremy Eaton

School personnel present: Louis Baty, Superintendent; Marsha Quade, Elementary Principal; Mark tucker middle School Principal; Colin Howeth high School Principal

Visitors Present: none

The meeting was called to order by Dale Turner at 7:05 pm.

OPEN FORUM/ PUBLIC COMMENTS

Louis Baty informed the Board the Knox City High School Band has been named a Honor Band for the 2015-16 school year.

APPROVAL OF CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS

Motion was made by Scott Lynn at 7:09 p.m. seconded by Al Rios to approve by consent the following agenda items: Knox City-O’Brien CISD July 26, 2016, Regular Board Meeting minutes, , attest June 22, 2016 Haskell Knox SSA Board Minutes and all bills for payment except Lynn Electric. Motion carried unanimous vote.

APPROVAL TO PAY BILLS

Motion was made by Al Rios at 7:12 p.m. seconded by Amanda Duke to approve the bill from Lynn electric for payment as presented. Motion carried unanimous vote. Scott Lynn Abstained.

APPROVAL OF STUDENT HANDBOOKS

Motion was made by Amanda Duke at 7:35p.m.seconded by Scott Lynn to adopt the student handbooks as presented Motion carried unanimous vote.

APPROVAL OF EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK

Motion was made by Scott Lynn at 7:45 p.m. seconded by Al Rios to adopt the employee handbook as presented. Motion carried unanimous vote.

APPOINTMENT OF ADJUNCT FACULTY MEMBERS

Motion was made by Scott Lynn at 8:00 p.m. seconded by Al Rios to appoint Lori Coop and Jerry Copeland as adjunct faculty members for the 2016-17 school year. Motion carried unanimous vote.

DATE FOR BUDGET AND TAX RATE HEARING

Motion was made by Al Rios at 8:03 p.m. seconded by Amanda Duke to set the Budget and Tax Rate hearing on August 30, 2016. Motion carried unanimous vote.

REPORT ON ACCOUNTABILITY RATINGS

Louis Baty reported to the board that all campuses and the district received the met standard accountability rating for the 2015-16 school year. The Board was given a comparison of District/Region9/State testing results.

PURCHASE OF VEHICLES

Motion was made by Amanda Duke at 8:30 p.m. seconded by Scott Lynn to approve purchase of a 2016 Chevrolet 2500 pickup for the vocational agriculture program and a 2106 Chevrolet Impala from Bailey Toliver Chevrolet. Motion carried unanimous vote.

ELEMENTARY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT REPORT

Louis Baty reported to the board the elementary construction project was in the final stages and would be ready for the start of the school year. One area of concern was the tile floor which will have to be replaced
