Pharmacy Access – Proscript
EMIS have launched a service called Pharmacy Access, encouraging sharing of information between GP surgeries and pharmacies using Rx Systems' pharmacy software, ProScript,. The ground breaking new software provides pharmacists with better visibility of patients' medical history from the GP record, as well as the ability to request repeat prescriptions directly within EMIS Web.
James Piggins and Sandra Yalda at the IM&T Team at the NHS Southern CSU are interested in talking to any pharmacies using Rx Systems software and who might be interested in this initiative. Please let James know if you are interested.

Reporting generic medicine shortages
LPCs will be familiar with the price concession system for agreeing a reimbursement price in month for products unavailable at the Drug Tariff price, as well as the time pharmacies spendtrying to source medicines.
To assist us with identifying products, wewould be grateful if you could raise awareness through your websites by highlighting to contractors that generic supply issues can be reported to us by completing our generic shortages form at psnc.org.uk/feedbackor email us
EPS2 Update
The implementation in Chiltern CCG continues to go well. Marlow Health Centre is now live with EPSR2, and 10 further go-live dates are now set. Once these are completed over 80% of Chiltern CCG practices will be live with EPSR2, which is well ahead of the national target of 43 to 50 percent.
The implementation in Aylesbury Vale CCG is also progressing but currently only 1 additional practice has agreed a go-live date.
The smartcard system upgrade has now been delayed until 2015.
Please encourage your members to continue to take the precautions described in our recent email as a part of business as usual.
