Summary
Alessandro asked whether there were any disagreements on the instance model that was presented in the previous meetings. Derek and Sivan shared there were discussions but overall rough consensus on principles.
Derek suggested creating the shortened version of principles of the instance model as guidelines with the specific use cases being recommendations for implementation.
Participants concluded we have enough guidelines to create the model itself and moving from abstract discussion to a concrete one. Derek suggested we define the work streams for such definitions and start working on the concrete model.
Derek suggested starting with the representation, and continuing with its creation, modification, and so on.
Alessandro suggested moving in parallel tracks - re-visiting the use cases defined initially with the conclusions of the guideline discussion and detailing further concrete, and defining the transformation required to generate the model.
Derek suggested looking at additional use cases, to ensure transformation through workflows are covered, as well as querying of the model by a client.
Jacques re-introduced the use case for instance model as a way to test the orchestrator and it was agreed this is an important use case which could cover the navigation on the instance model, also requiring serialization into a readable format.
The use cases will be detailed for the next two meetings, as described in the actions section.
Derek reminded of the suggestion to use a tool like XPath (adapting to the chosen serialization technology) to traverse the model.
The work on how to generate the instance model will be done in parallel to the use cases, Derek will share some thoughts on how to perform it for one of the next two meetings.
Alessandro suggested presenting to the TC once we have more details, ideally by the end of May.
Derek suggested interacting with the other working group while working to ensure alignment while the instance model is developed.
Actions
Sivan to work on details of the cluster use case to be discussed in two meetings.
Derek to provide a description of a workflow use case and some ideas on generating the instance model.
Jacques to provide requirements for a testing use case.
