Colwyn Bay Christmas Event
Colwyn Bay Christmas Event- Getting here
It’s nearly time!
We hope, like us, you’re really excited to welcome the iconic Coca Cola Christmas Truck to Colwyn Bay’s magical Christmas Event, but we just wanted to give you a heads up not to underestimate how many people and therefore cars may end up with us on the night.
The ideal solution - if you can, leave your car at home and enjoy a family stroll.
If that’s not possible, read on…
Public transport
We’ve been in touch with the local bus and train companies to let them know we’re expecting large numbers through Colwyn Bay. All services will be running as usual, but the re-direction of traffic will affect some bus stops.
If you normally catch your bus outside the Station pub (Eastbound), you will need to use the bus stop at Colwyn Bay Railway Station.
If you normally catch your bus outside Scope (Eastbound), you will need to use the bus stop at Colwyn Bay Railway Station.
If you normally catch your bus outside St Paul’s Church (Westbound), you will need to use the bus stops on either Bay View Road (on the road that leads to the Bay View Shopping Centre) or opposite Colwyn Bay Railway Station.
If you normally catch your bus outside the job centre (Westbound), you will need to use the bus stop on Marine Road (outside Rhoslan Court).
If you normally get off the bus at any of these stops, you will be dropped off at the nearest working bus stop for that day.
Drop off / collection points
Designated drop off and collection points have been organised at Porth Eirias on the Promenade to make sure traffic is kept moving.
Please make sure you use the designated drop off and collection points to help us keep disruption on the road to a minimum.
Free Parking
Don’t forget there is limited free parking on the Promenade. Obviously this is first come, first served, and it will not be manned. Arrive early and then it’s just a short walk to the town centre following the signs.
Park and walk
The car parks identified below can accommodate approximately 2,000cars. There are 5 options to park and walk close to Colwyn Bay Town Centre. All parking will be charged as normal.

Closed Roads and Restricted Parking
The Coca Cola Truck will be parked on Abergele Road at the top of Station Road (in between Bargain Booze / Subway and Dorothy’s Florist). This part of the road will be closed all day from 10am – Midnight on Wednesday 2 December. Access will be maintained for emergency services.
If you’re travelling from Old Colwyn (East), you will be diverted back to the A55 via Bay View road or if you need to come into Colwyn Bay, around Woodland Road East and Woodland Road West back onto Abergele Road. To help keep traffic moving parking will be restricted on Woodland Road East and Woodland Road West.
If you’re travelling from West End (West), you will be diverted down Marine Road and onto Princes Drive (B5113). If you need to come further into Colwyn Bay you will be directed down Hawarden Road on to Princes Drive (B5113).
Station Road leading around to Sea View Road will also be closed all day from 8am – Midnight on Wednesday 2 December to accommodate the rest of the Christmas Event. Obviously traffic is restricted here normally, but there will be no vehicle access whatsoever between these times.
Enforcement Officers will be at the event so please park responsibly.
