AAS CULA, presenter, Leslie Campbell – approved as proposed. Resubmitted changes to AAS that were originally presented on September 27. Proposal was based on 04/05 catalog, resubmitted based on 05/06 catalog.

AAS BSAD, presenter, Michelle Stobnicke – approved as follows:

-In the description add the following to the first sentence: “-while pursuing course work in their chosen area of concentration (Accounting, technology, Media Arts, etc.)” Delete the next sentence: “The associate in applied science degree is available with concentrations in accounting, business administration and office technologies.”

-Under the Behavioral/Social Sciences category replace ECON 200 or 201 with BSAD 235.

-Under Computer/Technology category add: “[or] CITC 111L”.

-Under CORE Requirements:

Add ACCT 111 or ACCT 121; add “(required for Accounting & Business Administration concentrations) after ACCT 121,

remove ACCT 122,

add BSAD 111,

add or BSAD 233 after BSAD 232,

add ECON 200 [or] ECON 201.

-Under the ACCT Concentration add ACCT 122, remove Approved electives statement. -Under BSAD Concentration remove BSAD 235, add or BSAD 232 with BSAD 233. In that Approved electives statement: remove the word “or” before Office Technologies and add the phrase, “or related field.” at the end.

-Add new concentration: ENTREPRENEUSHIP Concentration add BSAD 119, 215, 221, 222 and the Approved electives statement should state: “Approved electives (3): These courses should be upper level courses (112 or higher) in Accounting (ACCT), Business Administration (BSAD), Economics (ECON), or related filed.

-Add new concentration: General Studies Concentration section and title it Focus Area Concentration.

-Add new concentration: Office Management Concentration – add all the detail of the various Office Management Certificate requirements.

-Remove the Office Technologies Concentration.

Bilingual Education Endorsement, presenter, Virginia Padilla – approved. Add SPAN 255 in Block 4.

Misc. - Jackie Virgint reported back from the recent meeting in ABQ with HED that they will not allow colleges to offer, advertise, or publish in catalogs any program, certificate, degree or course without prior approval and assignment of a CIP (Classification of Instructional Program). They are very behind in approvals and have not taken any action on submittals for months.
