Dear Student and Parent:
Darlington High School is proud to announce our school wide summer reading assignments for students during the summer of 2012.
College Prep students will need to read the book assigned for the English class that they will be taking next year. All CP students will take a multiple choice test on the book. This summer reading assignment is a requirement and will be taken the first week of school. This grade will be counted as a test grade in the students’ English average. Copies of the books will be given to the students before they are dismissed for the summer.
Student enrolled in English II Honors will need to complete a PowerPoint project for their reading. Students enrolled in all upper level English Honors classes will have a separate assignment that will need to be completed on the Internet through MyBigCampus. These journal assignment have due dates throughout the summer. If a student does not complete these assignments by August 10, 2012, the student may be taken out of Honors and placed in an alternate English class.
Students, thank you in advance for the work you will put into completing this assignment. Parents, thank you for supporting and encouraging your child in completing this assignment. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Greg Harrison,
Principal
