A. Personal Statement

As the attending electrophysiologist on the wards, I attend on electrophysiology consults and serve as the primary attending on electrophysiology admissions. In clinic, I see patients referred for electrophysiologic evaluation and supervise the electrophysiology device (pacemaker and defibrillator) clinic. In the EP lab, I perform implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators and biventricular devices, cardioversions, tilt-table tests, electrophysiology studies, 3-dimensional intracardiac mapping, and ablations of atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardias, and ventricular tachycardias.

I am also a clinical research investigator with formal advanced training (Master’s Degree) in clinical research methods and biostatistics. My research interests include epidemiology and clinical outcomes in patients with all types of cardiac arrhythmias including the following: atrial fibrillation (AF), atrial flutter, biventricular pacing, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), electroanatomic mapping, electrocardiography, epidemiology, guidelines, implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD), national registries, outcomes research, pacemaker, quality of care, sudden cardiac death, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia (VT)
