THINKING OF A RENEWED MIND

SERMON BY –REV.DR.Y.JUDSON PAUL CHRISTOPHER

1.GIRD UP THE LOINS OF YOUR MIND

I Peter 1:13: “ ‍Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end‍[c]‍ for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ

WHY APOSTLE PETER CALLS FOR A REVIVAL IN OUR MIND,.

HIS MIND WAS STRONG AND WELL RENEWED IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD.

HE WAS FEARLESS INSIDE THE PRISON, WHEN HEROD WAS IN A PLAN TO KILL HIM THE VERY NEXT DAY.

APOSTLE PETER WAS FEARLESS, HIS MIND WAS GIRD UP.

THEN THE ANGEL APPEARED TO HIM IN THE PRISON, ACTS 12 :8

ANGEL SAID TO HIM, GIRD THYSELF, AND BIND ON THY SANDALS.

APOSTLE PETER HAD MIND WELL GIRDED AND SLEPT WELL THAT HE HAD TO WAKE UP AND GIRD HIMSELF TO WALK OUT, EVEN YOU CAN FURTHER SAY THAT, HE WAS STRONG IN HIS MIND TO FACE ANY BATTLE.

HOW MANY OF US ARE REALLY SLEEPING WELL IN THE MIDST OF DIFFICULTIES.

I AM NOT SAYING TO BE SLUGGISH AND UNCARED, BUT TO HAVE A STRESS FREE LIFE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE BIASED FOR THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT IN YOUR CONTROL AT ALL.

DO YOU KNOW MOST OF THE TIMES YOU TRY TO DO THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT IN YOUR CONTROL AT ALL, AND YOU LOSE THE BATTLE.

I AM SURPRISED AT PETER’S FAITH, AND STRONG TRUST HE DEVELOPED UPON THE LORD TO SLEEP ASSURED IN SUCH A MANNER.

LET US TRY TO REST OUR CARES UPON THE LORD.

IF YOUR MIND IS STRONG, YOU WILL SURELY OVERCOME FEAR AND START HAVING EASE AT YOUR WORK PLACE.

“Therefore take no thought saying, what shall we eat ? or what shall we drink ? of wherewithal shall we be clothed ? – matthew 6 :31

2.TO BE CONTENT BUILD YOU STRONG MIND.

Phillippians 4:11 says: 11 ‍Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.‍

YOU WILL NOT BE WANTING FOR THE PERISHING THINGS,

THIS WILL BRING IN YOU A GREAT DESIRE TO COME UP IN YOUR LIFE.

THOSE WHO ARE NOT CONTENT WITH THE THINGS, THEY HAVE WILL ALWAYS SUFFER AND BE DRAWN TO THE LUSTS OF THE WORLD.

APOSTLE PETER OR APOSTLE PAUL COULD ACCOMPLISH MORE THAN ANY ONE IN THOSE EARLY DAYS OF THE CHURCH, NOT BECAUSE THEY HAD SILVER AND GOLD.

TODAY MANY LOOK COVETOUS TO BECOME MILLIONAIRES, THINKING THAT THEY NEED SILVER AND GOLD TO PREACH THE GOSPEL.

TO PREACH THE GOSPEL, EVEN PERSONALLY IF YOU WANT TO PREACH AND REACH A SINGLE SOUL, YOU DON’T NEED THE SILVER AND GOLD BUT A HEART FILLED WITH DESIRE TO HAVE BURDEN, WHICH IS GIVEN BY THE LORD.

HENCE STRONG MIND GIRDED IS MORE PREFERABLE THAN ALL THE SILVER AND GOLD.

Many Christians have the misconception that to be content means that they are not to pursue their dreams. This is not true12

The context reveals the real meaning in that while pursuing my dream, I will be content in whatever state I find myself in, in order to accomplish my dream.

That is why he went on to say:

12I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.‍ 13 ‍I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.[1]

be content and get some rest! Your dream won’t go away overnight, not if it was from God! Just don’t burn out.

Jesus said in Mark 9:23: If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.‍ [2]

Jesus spoke this principle in context of a demon needing to be cast out of a man’s son, but the principal of believing applies to every area of our lives where we find challenges.

Jesus was constantly challenging the thinking of the people. That is how he built their faith. Jesus understood that faith could only be built upon the right foundation of thought patterns.

Why do some people get promoted on the job, and others seem to stay at the same level their entire career? .

The goal is to add value to the idea and the thought by exceeding

expectations when the initial question of, “What can we do toaccomplish our dream is proposed.”
