President’s Update
Dear Creighton’s Corner Parents,
Welcome to a new school year and to some of you a new school. We are so excited to have you. The past two days have been a little wild and it has been great meeting so many of you.
This past month there have been some very busy ladies working hard for our school in the capacity of representing you. Jill Edmonds and Jenn Easley are membership and Colt’s Pride chairmen and they have put together great efforts to offer membership forms to everyone they have seen during Kindergarten screening, Open House and Meet the Teacher. Beth Barrows, Vice President of Events, has been working on publicizing the essay contest that will be offered for our students to enter. At CCE we have had some winners and are looking forward to see what our students can do again. Julie Carter has taken on spirit wear and has come up with an excellent plan to sell our inventory, create new logos, allow students to vote, and then push out new spirit wear in late fall, winter and spring. So be looking for more information to come home in Friday folders.
Don’t forget to sign up your Harris Teeter VIC card number for CCE. Laura Horner would love it. She is coordinating getting those numbers in our system for our school to earn money. Last year we earned $10,000 just by people shopping at Harris Teeter. Another way we earn money is collecting box tops. More information will be sent out on how this can be done.
I cannot go without mentioning four people who work behind the scenes for our school. Molly Johnston comes to meetings, steps up when needed and records all our minutes. Beth Garofalo keeps our books in order and last but not least is Susan French and Jennifer Brody who are always stepping in when needed. Thank you ladies, for all your hard work. We appreciate you.
Our theme for the year is “Everyone can do something to support a GOLD Medal education.” We want everyone involved. Your children are important to us and we can work together to show them how important they are.
One last very IMPORTANT date is Tuesday, September 20. This is our first PTA meeting in the gym starting at 6:00-7:00. We need to vote on the budget, so we as a community can begin our task. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE.
