Classroom Expectations

Algebra I is a fast paced and challenging course in which you will earn 1 high school credit upon successful completion. It is very important to remain organized and complete all homework assigned each night.

*MATERIALS NEEDED:

1 Composition Notebook

7 2-pocket folder (the color of your class) Bring only 1 to school

1 highlighter

2 sharpened pencils

2 expo markers

4 AAA Batteries if your last name ends in A-M

4AA Batteries if your last name ends in N-Z

Due to the significant amount of material that should be covered by the end of the semester, class time is crucial. Therefore, daily classroom routines and exceptions have been established to avoid confusion from all students. Students must adhere to the following:

Daily classroom routines

  1. At the beginning of class (when the teacher walks in the door) each student must be in his or her seat with composition book and folder on desk.
  2. Students will begin to record the homework written on the board in their agenda.
  3. Students will have on their desk the previous night’s homework and has circled any problem that they do not understand on the blank copy on the digital presenter. It is EXPECTED that homework is checked against the answers that will be posted on the blog every night.
  4. While homework is being checked, students will begin working on the warm-up that is specified on the digital presenter.
  5. As a class, homework questions will be discussed and warm-up will be reviewed.
  6. The lesson for the day will occupy the remainder of the period.
  7. Students will be allowed to begin their homework in class to avoid questions at home.

Each student is responsible for following the classroom guidelines below

  1. Bring all necessary materials to the class each day, (completed homework, agenda, pencil, and any other materials specified by the teacher).
  2. Make-up any missed assignments as soon as possible.
  3. Take care of all school property (desks, textbooks, materials, etc.).
  4. Raise your hand before you begin talking.
  5. Ask permission before you leave your seat.
  6. The teacher will dismiss class when everyone is in his or her seat and the classroom is clean and in order.
  7. Listen carefully while someone else is talking.
  8. Bring two sharpened pencils. NO PENS
  9. Follow all school rules specified in student handbook.
  10. Include NAME, DATE, PERIOD AND ASSIGNMENTon each paper turned in.
