Electrical Technician

A Ten Month Journeyman Electrician Training Program

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Electrical Technician program incorporates lecture, video presentations, hands-on learning, collaborative work projects (both on and off campus), and individualized instruction to teach numerous concepts and components of the electrical industry. The course of study, as outlined below, is delivered to students by utilizing a variety of learning strategies, which involve self-study, small group learning situations, and whole-class instruction. Individuals who demonstrate self-discipline, consistent attendance, and an eagerness to learn and grow will be most successful in this rigorous 1,080 hour training program.

In order to sit for the Journeyman Electrician test, individuals must have completed a four year apprenticeship under a Master Electrician. Successful completion of MCTEC’s Electrical Technician program is accepted by the State Fire Marshal in lieu of this requirement.
