The House assembled at 10:00 a.m..
Deliberations were opened with prayer by the SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE as follows:
Our thought for today is from Jeremiah 17:10: “I, the Lord, test the mind and search the heart, to give to all according to their ways, according to the fruit of their doings.”
Let us pray. Bless, O Lord, these Representatives and staff as they go about the duties and responsibilities of caring for the people of this State. May they search their heart to find the way of honoring the office they have been chosen to serve. Bless the leaders of this great Nation and State. Give these people the tools to accomplish the work of Your hands. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayers. Amen.
Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE.
