STEP 2: Choose the shield that you will use that you will use for your project. If you don’t see one that you like, you can make up your own (shape of a heart for a loving person or shape of a guitar for a musician). REQUIREMENTS: All shields must have a personal meaning for you.

STEP 3:

Choose the colors, animals and symbols that you will use. You do not have to use the specific animal designs or symbols; you may create your own styles. You can also look on other websites to find meaning for these areas. REQUIREMENTS: You must have at least two colors, one animal, one plant or other similar symbol.

STEP 5: REQUIREMENTS: past, present and future and one of your core values you have discovered about yourself. Included in your design must be a recognition of something in your past that made you who you are today, something in your present that embodies who you are, and something you would like to be or have in your life in the future. You must also represent a value you hold important to who you are today.

STEP 6: MAKE IT YOUR OWN!!! Use all the artistic qualities you possess to create a unique design that represents who you are, where you have been and where you want to go in life. You may draw, paint, use pre-printed materials or use hot-glued items to create a three dimensional design, create a collage or use other methods. You can also include pictures of family members or friends (although this shouldn’t be the main part of your design). The size must be no smaller than 2 feet by 1 1/2 feet and no larger than a poster board. Your name and period and a copy of your note card outline must be attached to the back of the poster board.

STEP 7: Present it to the class.

*You will be provided research / computer access during the following days: ______. If you need additional time, you may go to the library before school or during lunch.

*You will need a poster board from home or purchase one for a dollar from the library. You may also need additional supplies to complete this assignment at home.

*You will be required to type the research on the form that is provided to you in this packet.

*The second component will be an oral presentation of your project to the class.

*You will discuss the choices you made and be prepared to answer questions from the class about your project.

*You will also have a formal outline of your presentation to turn in once you have given the speech written on a note card.

*Students will sign up for speech days the Friday before we present to the class. Students will receive grade deductions if they are not prepared on the day they sign up for. Speeches are given the week of ______.

If you have any questions you may email/call your instructor for further information or stop by during tutorials.
