· NREMT Skill Sheets – Norma reports.
o Maintained as much consistency as possible with the NREMT
o A final draft was sent from our working subgroup via email. Heeding the concern by the DOH not to overdue changes, but keeping balance with the high standards we expect of our EMT’s. The group reformatted the skill sheets into two packets. First packet is the EMT skill sheets which are very, very similar to NREMT skill sheets. NREMT eliminated the oral airway, nasal airway, suction, Epi auto injector and traction splint. We decided to keep those. The traction splint skill sheet includes several columns to address the unipole vs. bipolar types of equipment so instructors can note what the student is working with. The second packet is an addendum that includes skills such as drawing EPI from a vial for Epi administration, 12 Lead ECG application, IV skills from the IV curriculum and Supraglottic Airway and CPAP skills in the second section. The goal is to have one packet of skill sheets for the instructors to reference that will cover NREMT and WA state specific initial and specialized training.
o Note: The WA State modified NREMT skill sheets for EMR and EMT will be accepted by NREMT for NREMT testing standards.
o Note: The current IV therapy and Supraglottic airway skills sheets will need to be modified upon completion of this project to reflect any changes in the Patient Assessment skill.
