Course Description: This course develops an understanding of fundamental skills necessary to be successful in the agricultural communications industry. Provides guided practice and applied experience utilizing various styles of communication including oral, written, and electronic communications. Students will also identify occupational opportunities in agricultural communications.

Course Objectives: Students will

  • Identify available jobs in agribusiness communications

  • Describe the duties associated with available jobs.
  • Discuss educational requirements for available jobs in agribusiness communications.
  • Compare benefits of available jobs in agribusiness communications

  • Communicate effectively using oral and written means
  • Describe how to properly work as a team.
  • Explain the importance of setting goals.

Classroom rules and Procedures:
  • Be on time (in the when the bell rings)
  • Be prepared for class (bring the required classroom materials)
  • Food or drink is not permitted for any reason in class, unless authorized by the instructor
  • Portable electronic devices are not to be used in the classroom.
  • Cheating or plagiarism will not be tolerated
  • Profanity is not permitted in class
  • Sleeping is not permitted in class
  • Show respect for your teacher, your classmates, yourself, and the property of others
  • Conduct yourself in a mature and responsible manner
Attendance:Being on time for class means being inside the classroom when the bell rings. Any student
that is not in the classroom will be counted tardy.
Late and Missing work policy: Late work will not be accepted without an excused absence. It is the
student’s responsible to ask for his/her make-up work when returning back to school. Students have 1 week
make-up tests. Any work that was assigned in advance (before the student was absent) is due the day the
student returns to school.
