Minutes for Meeting Tuesday November 11, 2008 Coaches/Managers Meeting

Call meeting to order : Lee Visbara 8:00 p.m.
1) Reminder: Financial statements from every team needs to be submitted every month
2) District Teams and fees due to TYHA – put under TYHA office door by the 1st district game. Squirt/ pee wee - $370 and Bantam/Midget - $520 Also note coaches need original cards with updated game books.
3) Tyler Tisdale: Fundraiser – Thursday, March 5th -- Open Skate what fee is charged to go to a needy family that needs help (house player) In addition: The championship trophy for Pee Wee will be named after Tyler Tisdale and we will ask his parents to present it
4) Yearbooks – Robert Kapaitais talked about deadlines for yearbook – Pages ASAP and happy ads/ corporate ads January 31st
5) Coaches Evaluations – due to TYHA by February 15th
6) Maha – will vote on extending the season until April 15th for next year which would make the hockey season May 1st – April 30th no need to register teams twice for travel.
7) Travel applications due – January 15th – and February 15 – House teams
8) Tournament wins – get it to Dan Tanguay and it will be put on the web page
9) Coaches certificates due by end of the month if they aren’t certified names will be crossed off
10) IRS issues all cleared up – previous forms filed late had
11) State Playoffs Squirt A – Burton, MI, Pee Wee A – Traverse City, Bantam A – Trenton, MI, Midget A – Orchard Lake
12) Fundraisers: Kroger Rewards Give back– Will be started - Track sales (1/2) 2.5% back to sales goes back to families to next years registration and/ or ice bill, 2.5% goes to scholarship funds. Implement program
13) Sting hats – adults and children’s still for sale. Hats $15, sweatshirts are $50
14) Sportsmanship – encourage good sportsmanship with players including clothing choices.
