Name: / Completeby:

FFFFFFFFFSDFSDFSDFSDSD

Assignment:

Produce studies and sketches that lead to an A2 painting on the theme of your choice.

All your creative ideas should be shown in your sketchbook as you progress through the project.

These experiments and ideas should develop into a final piece on paper, card or canvas.

ACTION PLAN:

STAGE 1:

Sketch different drawings, paintings and 3D on your theme to help you decide where you want to focus.

Focus on exploring the 5 Visual Elements (tone, shape, line, texture and colour).

Try doing different sketches in different paints, eg. Acrylic, watercolour, pot and powder paints.

STAGE 2:

Research an artists’ work along your chosen theme. What colours do they use? Pale colour or bright colour?

Look at their style: how do they use and handle the paint, is it paint rough or smooth? Thin or thick strokes?

Do they paint the whole composition or do they paint a close-up in detail?

STAGE 3:

Always explore your stronger compositions and better ideas during this stage.

Experiment with different media on your sketches to help you decide what paint you might want to use.

You should complete at least two painted examples of what you might do for a final piece, (A4 or A3 size).

STAGE 4:

Create a final piece after selecting the most successful ideas and media from all your studies.

Complete ALL your research into your artist and show their influence on your own studies & your final piece.
