Location: / IT Centre, Cabinteely, Dublin 18Description of Business Unit: / Group IT delivers IT service and business solutions to the BOI Group. The primary goals of Group IT are:

- Meeting all regulatory, legal and Group compliance requirements, while proactively managing Group IT risk
The role of Head of Vendor Delivery will ensure effective governance and oversight of all key strategic supplier relationships. Initially this will be with respect to IBM, BT and HCL.
The Head of Strategic Vendor Management will oversee the creation of a dedicated team to perform this function.
Reporting to: / Head of Infrastructure and Application Service
Key Responsibilities: / Strategic
- Establish the Strategic Vendor Management Office to include the definition of roles and the strategic objectives of the team.
- Drive value from the strategic relationships to ensure business goals are met.
- Be the Bank of Ireland business owner in relation to the Innovation aspects of the agreement with IBM and ensure that acceptable proposals are jointly developed and presented to Bank of Ireland Executive management.
- Act as representative on Group IT management team with respect to strategic supplier relationships.
- Work with IT, business, and procurement to define key sourcing strategies.
- Report to appropriate IT steering committees on key/strategic supplier relationships.
- Lead research on industry best practices with respect to IT sourcing.
- Define, implement and manage effective oversight processes in relation to existing strategic agreements with IBM, BT and HCL.
- Monitor supplier and Bank of Ireland compliance with the obligations of the Agreements.
- Ensure effective metrics are in place with respect to the suppliers performance in relation to their contracted services.
- Monitor supplier contract-level deliverable commitments.
- Track fulfilment of deliverables.
- Ensure audit-ability of supplier processes.
- Manage benchmarking activities.
- Work with the Bank of Ireland Finance manager to ensure all appropriate commercial, financial governance and payment processes are adhered to.
- Manage Bank of Irelanddefined governance activities.
- Ensure appropriate risk management of suppliers with respect to supplier stability and market positioning.
- Engage with and manage interactions with internal functions in Bank of Ireland including Group Finance and Group Procurement.
- Manageescalated issues according to the governance escalation procedures.
- Work with Group IT Infrastructure Development to ensure processes in relation to all work requests/change requests in excess of pre-established expenditure amounts or circumstances.
- Evaluate service credits and approve any action plans resulting from critical service performance failures.
- Evaluate and approve innovation and gain-sharing mechanisms, and assure their alignment with the agreed-upon principles of Innovation.
- Approve, authorise, and oversee all contract-related policies and procedures.
- Implement a strong awareness with respect to services delivered to Bank of Ireland amongst key internal stakeholder groups.
- Ensure compliance with BOI Group standards and demonstrate a commitment to delivery against best professional standards and expertise.
Essential Key Requirements: /
- At least 10+ years experience in a senior management role with relevant experience of Supplier management
- Previous demonstrable experience of managing IT Outsource agreements of +€100m
- Have lead and implemented major outsource agreements with leading Tier 1 and/or tier 2 suppliers.
- A proven negotiator and effective in ensuring outsource suppliers deliver.
- Comfortable with directing and leading external consultants and legal professionals to ensure all external advice is clearly directed and delivered with a value for money focus.
- A background in processes like ITIL, COBIT and demonstrable capability with respect to project management is essential.
Desirable Key Requirements: /
- Experience of working in a complex IT service environment and at ease with troubleshooting difficult situations and prioritising resolution.
- Experience in leading multi disciplinary teams to ensure and effective end to end solution is put in place.
- Ability to challenge and probe to identify recurring themes and isolate those areas to be addressed for permanent resolution.
- Ability to define and implement robust processes in support of operational effectiveness.
- An excellent organiser with attention to detail and determination to succeed.
- Commercial acumen – an ability to act in the best interests of the Bank to mutual benefit of all parties, including Business Units, Group IT, and third party suppliers
- Understanding of the processes, technology, and software relevant to the overall Enterprise Architecture.
