Join in the Challenge!

Celebrate Spring / Easter

Come on and “get cracking”!

We are going to be holding an egg drop at East Chilliwack on Thursday, March 28th. We challenge students to take a raw egg and package it in a creative way so that it will not crack when Mrs. Scott drops it off of the roof of our school gym J! Challenge yourself to find the smallest package, the least amount of protection, and the most creative way to successfully save the raw egg from breaking. No humongous packages are allowed because we know that these eggs would survive for sure. Think like a scientist and experiment with small containers, creative containers, and minimal padding. Surprise us…..amaze us…..shock us with your creativity! J

1.  Must be a raw egg.

2.  If a parachute is being used, no form of padding is to be used to protect the egg in the container (the egg nest). Creative suspension systems, containers, special egg supports, or rests may be used.

3.  If no parachute is being used, design a protective device that uses as little packaging as possible. The package must be smaller than a small shoe box.

4.  Name of student, grade and classroom teacher must be attached.

Projects must be here by Wednesday, March 27th (K to Grade 6) to allow for organizing and drop preparation. Attach an entry form to your project (see below). Late projects will not be accepted. Students need to take their egg drop projects to the Hawks’ Nest on Wednesday, March 27th.

Approximate Drop Times
