Augustin Palokaj works as a political correspondent in Brussels since 1998. He is a correspondent of Kosovo’s most influential daily newspaper “Koha Ditore” and the KTV, belonging to the same media group. He is also a correspondent of “Jutarnji list” from Croatia that belongs to WAZ Media Group. In his comments, he is mainly concerned with EU foreign policy and security, enlargement issues and relations between the EU and countries from the Western Balkans.
Augustin Palokaj was born in Kosovo in 1969. He graduated secondary school in Gymnasium of Peja. Since 1990 he has been living in Croatia. He holds a MA degree on journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences of Zagreb University. Augustin Palokaj works as a professional journalist since 1993. He started his carrier as a war correspondent from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina for “Koha” weekly and BBC world service (Albanian and Croatian section). He wrote also for IWPR, Radio “Free Europe”, “Vecernji list” and many other publications. His articles were published in several newspapers belonging to WAZ media Group in Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania.
Palokaj worked for two years as a “demonstrator assistant” at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Zagreb. He participated as a speaker and trainer in several international conferences and workshops related to NATO, EU enlargement, EU communication strategy. Palokaj was awarded as journalist of the year in Kosovo in 2002 and best Print media Journalist in Croatia in 2005. Since 2005, he is a regular lecturer at the European Integration School.
