Generator Rentals Technician - Mississauga

Total Power is currently seeking a Rentals Technician for their Mississauga location.

The Rentals Technician is responsibleforgenerator rental equipment service and program management. Additionally, the Rentals Technician willrepairand maintain load-bank test units in our shop in Mississauga.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Take ownership for Total Power’s generator rental program; including unit preparation, delivery, commissioning, maintenance, inventory tracking, and administration of all rental equipment
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all rental equipment before and after customer use
  • Inspect and clean all rental equipment when returned to the office ensuring accessories are returned. This includes checking the trailer, cables, and load-bank(s) for any damage.
  • Perform or initiate repairs as needed, and report any deficiencies in writing to the District Service Manager(s).
  • Deliver equipment within Total Power’s Rental truck capability and commission therental equipment when onsite, and ensure customers understand how to operate the equipment
  • Repair or identify needed repairs and scheduled maintenance on all rental units
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs on load-banks. Responsible for load-bank inspection cycle for all Total Power customers
  • The waste oil and coolant areas are to be kept clean and organized. Assist in emptying the old oil, glycol and ensuring old filters are placed into their respective containers. If the old oil/glycol tanks are full, contact disposal company for emptying.
  • Participate in other assigned duties which may include for example, additional warehouse cleanup, assisting with inventory etc.

Education and other Requirements:

  • Minimum college level diploma in electrical applications or similar in education and/or experience required
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a technician/mechanic or field service associate in a (similar) mechanical or electrical industry preferred
  • Valid driver's license – Clean driving record, with proven track record and ability to drive large trucks and tow equipment, as related travel will be required
  • In the case of a power outage or declared State of Emergency by any level of Government in Ontario, be available for work

Working Conditions:

  • After hours On-Call – Required. Flexibility for emergency calls needed.
  • Ability to work irregular hours / overtime.
  • Occasional overnight travel
  • Manual lifting and moving of parts and material is required. Must be capable of safely lifting maximum limit as set by the MOL.
