Israel’s Response :

“All the Lord has spoken, we will do”

How you can approach Me, a HOLY God

Day 1-2: Consecrate yourselves
Wash garments
Sexual abstinence (just during this time)
Day 3: I will meet with them
Set boundaries around the mountain

Israel to Moses: Speak to us yourself!
Don’t let God speak to us or we will die!
Moses: Don’t be afraid! God came to test you…

MISINTERPRETING GOD’S LAW
Rich Young Ruler:
I’ve kept all the commandments from my youth”
Religious Jews:
I’ve never committed murder, or adultery
I can’t help my parents because I’m giving this $ to God.
Jesus: Whoever annuls one of these laws
shall be least in the Kingdom
Some Evangelicals:
“Yes, I’ve broken all God’s Commandments,
but I’m saved by faith

I’m free from the Law”

Jesus: I did not come to abolish the Law, but fulfill it
Secular World: We want our schools, courts, etc.
to be free from God’s Law, too!

So the Lord commanded us to observe all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God for our good always and for our survival, as it is today. Dt 6:24
