Dear Aldine Employee,

Substitutes are a very important component of our educational system. When a classroom teacher is absent, it is the substitute teacher who keeps the students from falling behind in their education, keeps the classroom functioning, and helps the teacher to achieve educational objectives.

On behalf of the Aldine Independent School District, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your service and contribution in making this year a successful one. I invite you to continue your service as a substitute teacher next school year, which commences August 25, 2014 and ends June 4, 2015.

Please complete the enclosed forms (2) and return them to us by July 11, 2014. The “Substitute Reinstatement” form will allow us to know which day(s) you are available to work and preferred school(s) or area(s) in our district. Please be advised that late reinstatement forms will not be accepted and you may have to reapply for employment with the district.

PLEASE BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE CONTENTS OF THE LETTER TITLED “REMOVAL FROM THE SUBSTITUTE LIST” ENCLOSED WITH THIS LETTER.

I have enclosed a copy of the school calendar for your convenience. Remember to notify the substitute office in writing if your substitute status changes.

Please feel free to call Fred Humber (Substitute Coordinator) at 281-985-7100, if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Raul Fonseca
