Zombie FAQs
What is the Zombie Run?
A 3 mile charity fun run through the woods in Henley on INSERT DATE HERE. Participants can choose to run or be a zombie. Runners are given a flag belt and the object is to complete the course with their flags intact. Small packs of zombies await in the woods to try and capture runners’ tags. The event starts at dusk, as it’s getting dark and zombies are getting hungry. This event is designed to be A LOT OF FUN, and all money raised goes to the charity PIP.
The vision for the Zombie Run was Simon Priestley’s. The 2018 Zombie Run is in his honour, and pays tribute to a true legend.
RUNNERS - Your mission is to complete the 3 mile course whilst keeping your ‘tags’. The tags are velcroed around your waist on a tag belt. As you run, Zombies will appear from the woods to try and take your tags. We’ll send you out in small groups (you are safer in numbers!). The course is clearly marked but runners are required to have their own headlights. We will provide mountain bikers to guide and provide any support necessary. So watch out for those hungry undead zombies on your route; they will be waiting to ambush and take your tags!
ZOMBIES - Your mission is to take as many runners’ tags as possible. Small packs of zombies will be in waiting along the course in advance of the runners’ setting off. Zombies are responsible for their own makeup and costumes, and encouraged to be as creative as possible!
Do I have to be fit to take part?
Absolutely not. Whether you are zombie or a runner this event is NOT A RACE and is all about HAVING FUN. So go at whatever pace suits you.
What happens when?
The event starts at dusk, as that’s when zombies get hungry. Meet at the Malsters Arms which is the start and finishing point. The event should take 1.5-2 hours. Have a drink in the bar afterwards, then please join us all at Lovibonds. All money raised goes to the charity PIP. Here’s a few tips for everyone:
- Dress appropriately-this event takes place in the woods and it will likely be cold.
- Runners need to be able to wear a flag belt around their waist.
- You’re HIGHLY likely to get dirty and wet whether you are a runner or a zombie.
