Rules Lesson Plan

Location 1: Cafeteria

Resources used to teach this Lesson Plan (2-3 resources with specific websites, curriculum, programs, etc.):

During the beginning month of school (August), each grade level will be called to a disciplinary assembly to review the Code of Conduct and other school policies and expectations. Classroom teachers review the Code of Conduct in the classroom, followed by a short assessment. (First and Second week of school). Student competition to make posters and banners to be displayed in the cafeteria with RULES and EXPECTATIONS visible to all. In addition, student behavior data will be displayed and tied to rewards.

Specific steps of Lesson Plan (3-5 sentences. Include lesson format, activities, and details to replicate):

Before August 29th, second week of school, every class will review proper procedures for cafeteria usage.
Staff and teachers will have a meeting to review cafeteria expectations, procedures and routines. (See schedule by
AP) Emphasis will be on lining up, cutting, and cleaning areas before exiting. Staff will be briefed on specific expectations for students and associated consequences regarding rule breaking in the cafeteria, in staff meeting.
