CengageNow

CengageNow (“CNow”) is a resource that allows students to work the assigned homework problems, take the required exams, and view lectures, videos, and problem demonstrations – all online. If you haven’t used it previously, CNow isn’t the easiest thing in the world to get used to. But once you do I think you’ll really appreciate the resource.

If you do need to register a new access code in CengageNow, you will need to play the first of the video presentations below. It should save you from a lot of confusion and frustration when you register your access code. (Just click the links to launch the videos.)

Other Information

In order to access the site, you will need to have the code from a CengageNow access card. If you purchased the book bundle from the bookstore, you received this card with your book – one for Financial Accounting and one for Managerial Accounting. The Financial Accounting code is used for the Elements class and the Financial Accounting class.

It is acceptable to not buy the book, and to only purchase the access card - either from the bookstore or online. (You are able to read the textbook online by accessing the “e-book” within CengageNow.) When you are ready to register and you navigate to CNow at http://www.cengagebrain.com , the opening page displays a "Find" box that can be used to purchase the access code directly from Cengage. Unless you know the code card ISBN number, it is very likely that you will not get the correct access code. Refer to the "Course Information" document on your course page at www.my-accounting-tutor.com for the ISBN for your particular code.

When you register your code in CengageNow, be sure to enter the correct one - enter the Financial Accounting code if you are taking Elements of Accounting or Financial Accounting. Enter the Managerial code if you are taking Managerial Accounting.

When you finish the registration process in Cengage, you will be asked for a “course key.” This is another code you must enter. It puts you into our course and into our gradebook. The course keys are also listed in the "Course Information" document on your course page at www.my-accounting-tutor.com.
