THE ENTRY FORM FOR BRANCH CONTESTS ARE ON TWO SHEETS
COMPLETE BAND DETAILS ONCE AT THE TOP
These sheets must be returned to me fully completed indicating which contests you intend to take part in, The closing date for entry to contests is three weeks prior to the event. Please retain the syllabus for information. You must carry your list of registered players for inspection at any time. Complete the entry form enclosed in all sections including the 6/8 March tune for Drum Majors, this is a condition of entry to the contest failure to comply will result in disqualification from the event. Grade 4B are exempt from this requirement.
The draw will be made on the Monday after the closing date for that contest at a suitable venue. Bands will be notified of the draw and time to play by email.
DRUM MAJOR AGE REQUIRMENTS
Novice up to 11 yrs on 1st Nov. Junior up to 14 yrs on 1st Nov. Juv up to 18 yrs on 1st Nov. Senior over 18 yrs.
Prizes will be awarded to the first 5 places with perpetual trophies where available and plaques or medals
COMPETITORS REPORT AT 11 30 am FOR DRESS WITH THE HEATS TO FOLLOW.
THERE WILL BE NO ENTRY FEES FOR 2010 HOWEVER BANDS WHO FAIL TO ATTEND WILL BE FINDED £10
ALL IRELAND FEES WILL APPLY
MARCHING AND DISCLIPLINE
A contest for the best band in Marching & Discipline will be held for each grade with a prize awarded for first place.
CONTEST REPORTING & OTHER INFORMATION
Any band who has entered the contest and is unable to attend on the day should report their non attendance as soon as possible and before 11am on the day of the event Tele. 07702 681189 or 028 406 24849
Town parades after events will be indicated in each programme.
EACH BAND MUST REGISTER ON ARRIVAL AT THE VENUE.
A TENT SUITABLY MARKED WILL BE PROVIDED WHERE YOU WILL SIGN IN. STEWARDS WILL ONLY BE PROVIDED FOR ASSISTANCE.PLEASE ENSURE THIS IS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE PIPE MAJOR.
GRAND FINALE
At the conclusion of the days events a selected number of bands will play for the march past these bands will be notified by letter. An assembly point will be given and a time to report will appear on the programme
ALL BANDS WILL PLAY “THE BATTLE’ OER” FOLLOWED BY THE SALUTE TO THE CHIEFTAIN “HIGHLAND LADDIE.”
ALL BANDS TO TAKE PART IN THE GRAND FINALE UNLESS PERMISSION HAS BEEN GIVEN TO LEAVE EARLY
When the march past has commenced No band will sound except the centre duty bands or the massed band.
Bands taking part in a competition, will enter the march past in order, by their grade. The order will be varied each competition and times posted for the march past. Any band failing to enter the march past on time will be penalised at the next event in which they take part.
