Submission deadline has been extended.

A surveymonkey will be sent to TF membership to vote on new leaders, and the deadline will be the 19th.

III. Leg Updates, Katie Brown

AB 3632- See Public Counsel’s press release. In October, the funds were eliminated and as a result, Public Counsel and several other advocacy organizations submitted a motion for a temporary restraining order to get funds back. Funds have been rerouted, and are temporarily in place. In January the money should be provided. Email Laura directly with stories and examples of counties making it a practice of denying services.

AB 1933- School of origin/ matriculation. There is a workgroup who is working to carve out the details of accessing funds for transportation. They are close to an agreement and will share the outcomes with the state via an ACL.

Rules of Court

Adoption Month- A 12 hour eventl is taking place on the west steps of the Capitol on Saturday, November 20th from 6a – 6p. Contact Mia Stizzo if you are interested in calling out the names of children and youth in care in California, or for more information. You can also visit

Ed Fact Sheets- The fact sheet revisions will be done by the end of this week.

V. Subcommittee Updates

Foster Ed Connect- Jesse and others met to discuss ways to improve the site. Thirty changes will be made between now and February 1st. Jesse added that an Ed Summit schedule is needed in order to post info in the site.

The FYETF site is up, but still needs Ed Summit registration links. As soon as it’s completed, we will send out the links for all to see. Mia will be uploading documents.

VI. Ed Summit

County Engagement: three county documents were drafted for county leads and FYS coordinators. The docs will be sent out along with the save the date.

This year’s program will feature 60 sessions. It’s the most diverse summit we have had.

December in-person at Long Beach Chancellor’s office. We will doodle for the best date.
