JOANNA KRUPA TO JUDGE ASPIRING MODELS AT GALERIA KATOWICKA FOR THE SECOND TIME

October 24-31 – Katowice Fashion Week

Katowice Fashion Week at GaleriaKatowicka means Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 24-25) marked by fashion, modeling and presence of Joanna Krupa, as well as a weeklong of special offers, with discounts of up to70% and a PLN 100 gift card chargeback for shopping worth at least PLN 350.

“It’s the second time we’re inviting everyone to GaleriaKatowickafor a meeting with the grand world of fashion and modeling. This time, however, the event is going to be much bigger owing to the involvement of prestigious partners, including Fashion TV, Glamour and Avant Models. This Saturday and Sunday we will see fashion shows presenting Maison apparel, womenswear, menswear, kidswear, family fashion and sportswear. Customers can take part in fashion designing workshops and undergo a Glamour makeover. The weekend of October 24-25 will also see modeling auditions held by an agency representing stars such as Joanna Krupa, Kasia Struss and Zosia Nowak, all of whom have featured on the covers of Vogue or Glamour numerous times.

Following Haute Couture weeks in Paris, New York and Milan, YlanAloufa – French designer and Art Director at Fashion TV – is going to present his most recent collection at Katowice Fashion Week inGaleriaKatowicka.

Kids selected during auditions and girls attending Avant Models School classes at GaleriaKatowicka will walk in fashion shows hosted by Joanna Krupa and Adam Giza.

Participation in auditions during Katowice Fashion Week offers a chance to win a contract with Avant Models agency and a photoshoot which will be published in Glamour. Girls and boys who dream of a career in the modeling industry need to meet the requirements determined by the organizer. They have to be at least 172 high and 14 years old. In order to take part in the auditions, one needs to fill in the form available at GaleriaKatowicka information desk, and come to the area around the stage on the casting day, within the time slot indicated in the event schedule.

Prospective models will be judged by Joanna Krupa (head juror of Katowice Fashion Week, internationally renowned model and actress, and Top Model judge), Anna Jurgaś (editor-in-chief of Glamour), Małgorzata Leitner (owner of Avant Models agency which is a partner of Top Model show), and YlanAnoufa (Art Director at Fashion TV, and designer of MaisonAnoufa – French brand established in 1940).

On Saturday (Oct. 24), visitors will also have a chance to consult Glamour stylists providing free-of-charge tips to customers who do shopping for at least PLN 75 on that day and present a receipt. The tips will be offered on the first-come first-served basis.

In the mall’s passages, customers will be able to get free makeup, talk to makeup artists and consult experts from Jean Louis David, French hairstyling brand. Its salon at GaleriaKatowicka has prepared a special offer for thorough makeovers during Katowice Fashion Week.

Sunday (Oct. 25) will also see additional events held away from the main stage of Katowice Fashion Week. Lecturers and experts from the Fashion and Jewelry Design Department at Katowice School of Technology will host apparel designing workshops at level +2, opposite the entrance to the Higher Level Project Zone, between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

“The upcoming weekend will be full of prizes offered in mini-contests and quizzes. All you have to do is stay close to the stage. But that’s far from all! Throughout the week, from October 24 to 31, customers can tap into special discounts of up to 70%. There will be hundreds of interesting offers. What’s more, anyone who shops for over PLN 350 will get a PLN 100 chargeback onto GaleriaKatowicka gift card,” says Dawid Prymas.

Katowice Fashion Week is going to be the biggest fashion event in Silesia. Its partners include a top women’s magazine, Glamour, and an international fashion and lifestyle channel, Fashion TV.

GaleriaKatowicka cooperates with Avant Models agency and Katowice School of Technology which is one of very few tertiary education institutions in this part of Poland to offer classes for prospective fashion designers.

The investment’s first stage covered the railway station that was completed in October 2012. February 2013 saw the opening of the underground bus terminal. GaleriaKatowickawas opened on September 18, 2013.
