PeopleSoft NA Payroll and Time & Labor Implementation for Merck & Co Inc.:– Cognizant was awarded the Design ( Functional & Technical) and Development of the PeopleSoft NA Payroll and Time & Labor modules that were being implemented. There were about 350 gaps that were identified of which Cognizant was assigned about 190 of them which included online customization, interfaces (both inbound and outbound) and custom reports. It involved requirement gathering, writing detailed Functional and Technical Design Document, Coding and Unit Testing.

Jan 03 – Dec 04 Hexaware Technologies Ltd, Chennai – Was responsible for PeopleSoft – HRMS customization projects for Fortune 500 companies and was part of the transition team for the Hexaware – PeopleSoft ISC setup. Managed 3 projects of varied sizes. Offshore Project management, Client interaction and On-site / offshore coordination were my primary responsibilities.

PeopleSoft – HRMS Upgrade & Global Payroll Implementation for Hexaware: –Led a team of technical resources in the Upgrade of HRMS 8.3 to HRMS 8.8, customization of HRMS and implementing Global Payroll – India Country Extension for Hexaware. Various Interfaces like GL, Banking were also developed. In addition to various statutory reports delivered by PeopleSoft, about 20 custom reports were also prepared. A custom emailing of Payslip was also developed as part of the GP implementation.

PeopleSoft – Global Payroll – Country Extension Implementation for Standard Chartered Bank:– Implement Global Payroll – Zimbabwe Country Extension for Standard Chartered Bank. As PeopleSoft does not provide a country extension for Zimbabwe, the payroll elements have to be defined from scratch. Various Interfaces like GL, Banking, Tax Authority, and Social Security Department were also developed.

Worked at the Pacific Bell facility for more than 2 years in the development and maintenance of a workflow automation project

This Mechanized Engineering applicationwas designed as a typical three-tier client server application with the presentation layer (GUI) being developed in Visual BASIC; the business layer OLE/DLL objects developed in Visual BASIC and C++; and the data layer in SQL Server. The data transfer from the client, through the business layer, to the database was done using RDO objects.

The project included the Mechanization and automation of various manual-engineering processes for transport engineering. It provided for electronic project management and for a standard set of repeatable procedures, tools, standard configurations, templates and formats for capacity management and implementation of core processes. It also provided for gathering data and providing report generation capability. Integration testing and stress testing were performed using standard SQA techniques. A MAPI interface object was also written to provide interface with MS Exchange. It was basically used to send mails to a hierarchy of decision making to get approvals depending on what stage the job are.

Responsibilities included

(1)Managing the scope, plan, cost and quality of the application

(2)Development (coding and enhancement), maintenance, and unit testing of the GUI.

(3)Enhancement of the OLE/DLL object.
