(1)Position Statement:

- The Behavior Assistant is a part time position. The position is responsible for assisting the adults or children we serve in the ADT or Group Homes with all morning and afternoon routines.

-Conduct observations, complete assessments, assist in writing, training of staff in implementation of behavioral and skill acquisition programs. Assist individual served in crisis and provide support to direct care staff.

(4)Key Working Relationships:

(a) Internal: Director of Residential services or Vocational Services,CBA Consultants, Program Coordinator, Home Coordinator and or Assistant Director of Vocational Services, Program staff and Human Resources.

(b) External: Waiver Support Coordinators, Parents, Division of Children and Families.

(5)Education & Experience Requirements.

(a) Education: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent. AA degree in psychology or related field preferred.

(b)Experience: 2-4 years experience teaching new skills for people with developmental disabilities and experience with persons with challenging behaviors. Experience in assessments, writing case notes, data graphing, and implementing behavior programs preferred.

(c)Must have a clear valid Florida driver’s license.

Position Title: Behavior Assistant

SPECIFIC DUTIES

  1. Attend all staff meetings, in-service and workshops as deemed necessary.
  2. Assist with training group home or ADT Program Staff on implementation of behavioral programs.
  3. Assist with behavior assessments.
  4. Conduct assessments for skill acquisition programs.
  5. Assist with developing IP goals.
  6. Maintain documentation of behavioral programs and IP goals.
  7. Maintain daily progress notes, IP data, and behavioral data.
  8. Assist in providing 1:1 coverage for individuals in crisis during program hours and transport.
  9. Maintain files, records and information pertaining to client files in a professional and confidential manner according to Core Assurances and Department of Children & Families regulations.
  1. Provide supervision, care, direction and assistance to the adults we serve at all times.
  1. Work individually with the individual served to achieve I.P. goals and behavioral goals.
  1. Implement and document daily progress of behavior, I.P. goals and vocational goals as well as all other required documentation.
  1. Maintain documentation and accountability for all production flow in assigned area including quality control.
  1. Assist and intervene in all behavioral situations and document such according to all guidelines.
  1. Maintain open communications with all departments, supervisors and co-workers.
  1. Work cooperatively and constructively, acting as a positive role model for the individual servedand co-workers.
  1. Maintain work area, files and all paper work in a professional organized manner.
  1. Follow program rules established for the individuals served.
  1. Follow all agency policies and procedures at all times.
  1. Transport consumers to and from program, following all agency policies and procedures atall times.
  1. Assist with planning/creating other activities within the assigned program.
  1. Maintain Behavior Assistant Certification and Reactive Strategies training up to date.
  1. Perform all other duties as assigned.

-May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment / supplies to include, but not limited to, pens, pencils, calculators, computer keyboards, telephone, etc..

-Ability to drive all United Cerebral Palsy vehicles with or without adaptive equipment.

-Ability to transport consumers and drive on agency business is a job duty and a required part of the

job. Must sign transportation agreement when utilizing own vehicle to conduct agency business
