A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in honor of Suzanne Bryce upon the occasion of her receipt of a 2003 Prudential Spirit of Community Award.

WHEREAS, Suzanne Bryce, an esteemed resident of Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky, and a student at DuPont Manual High School, has achieved national recognition for exemplary volunteer service by receiving a 2003 Prudential Spirit of Community Award, along with an engraved bronze Distinguished Finalist medallion; and

WHEREAS, this prestigious award, presented by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers across America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and

WHEREAS, Suzanne Bryce earned this award by giving generously of her time and energy to create a teen advisory board for the Kosair Children's Hospital Foundation to give young people an opportunity to volunteer and raise money for the hospital; and

WHEREAS, the success of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the strength of our communities, and the overall vitality of American society depend, in great measure, upon the dedication of young people like Suzanne Bryce who use their considerable talents and resources to serve others;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby congratulate and honor Suzanne Bryce as the recipient of a Prudential Spirit of Community Award. We recognize her outstanding record of volunteer service, peer leadership, and community spirit, and we wish her continued success and happiness in all future endeavors.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in honor of Suzanne Bryce.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Ms. Suzanne Bryce, 84 Valley Road, Louisville, Kentucky 40204-1516.
