Due to recent changes involving the Red Cross, Sugarcreek

Township islooking for volunteers. With the recent changes

it is now the responsibility of the Township to provide man power to

the center. There is a sign-up sheet located at the Township building. You can also

call and inform the secretary that you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the emergency center.

The Sugarcreek Community Parkis now taking reservations for the hall and pavilion rental for the 2017season, contact Janice at (724) 526-5943. Volunteers are always welcome. Committee meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at the hall in the park.

Sugarcreek Township is looking for pictures from places within the Township. If you have any you would be willing to share, please contact the Township Secretary at 724-526-3261.

The Ladies Auxiliary with the fire department is seeking quart jars. If you would like to donate jars, please contact Wanda Rottman at 724-526-3242.

Sugarcreek Park will be hosting a Rummage Sale May 19th and 20th. If you would like to donate any items or would like more information, please contact Janice at (724)526-3261.

Sugarcreek Volunteer Fire Department is looking for Volunteers, social, active or inactive members. If interested, please see a fireman for an application.

Sugarcreek Park will be hosting workdays every Tuesday starting at 6:00pm. Volunteers would be appreciated to help do maintenance and repairs at the park.

St. Paul’s Church will return to its regular hours in June. From September-May: Sunday School 9:45am & 11am Worship Service. Beginning in June through August Worship Service will be held at 10am (No Sunday School).

A Knit/Crochet Group will be held on the Second Monday of every month at 1:30pm at St. Paul’s Community Church.

Hymn Sing: Third Tuesday of every month at 9:45am at Sugar Creek Rest. All are welcome to participate. We could use some more volunteers to share their voices.

A Christian Luncheon will be held on the Third Thursday of every month at 11:30a.m. All are welcome!! Call the church for location information.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS

St. Paul’s Community Church will be hosting a Faith and Fitness Group every Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the church.

Food bank is the last Tuesday of every month at the Sugarcreek Fire hall. Contact Community Action to sign up at (724)-548-3408. The Washington Township Building is the Food Bank pick up site for Washington Township residents. Volunteers welcome at Sugarcreek site. If you are interested in assisting with Foodbank pick-up, please contact the Township Secretary.

The Township Monthly Meetings of the Supervisors will be held at the township building at 7 PM on first Monday of the month.

The Sugarcreek Community Park Committee Meeting is held at 7 PM the first Tuesday of the month at the park hall.

The Sugarcreek Firemen Meeting is held at 7:00 PM the second Monday of every month at the fire hall. The Sugarcreek Ladies Auxiliary Meeting is held at 1:00 PM the second Tuesday of every month at the fire hall.

St. Paul’s Community Church will be hosting its spaghetti dinner on the 2ndTuesdayof the month from January through November from 4 to 6:30 pm. Meal includes Spaghetti, meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $7.00 for adults and $3.00 for children. Take outs are available for an additional fee. All proceeds benefit the mission fund.

Sugarcreek Rest Personal Care Home will be hosting Tone-Up Tuesday on the last Tuesday of every month from 1:30 pm until 2:30 pm. Community Members age 55+ are welcome to attend. For more information, please contact Sugarcreek Rest Personal Care Home.

The 6th Annual Sugar Creek Rest Truck and Tractor Cruise will be held on Saturday June 3 from 5 pm until dusk. Craft vendors, food vendors, a petting zoo, pony rides, raffles and a DJ will be included in the festivities. Bring lawn chairs to enjoy Windy River Band beginning at 7pm at the newly remodeled Personal Care Home. There will be fireworks at dusk, so stay and enjoy the show!

St. Paul’s Church will be hosting a Campfire Gathering with Karaoke and an Old Fashion Hot Dog Roast on Thursday, May 18th at 6pm.

Art Club will be held Sunday, May 21st at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul’s Community Church. Snacks and art supplies are provided!

St. Paul’s Church will be having a Memorial Day Serviceon Monday, May 29th at 11am at the Oak Grove Cemetery.

The Annual Fishing Event will be held Sunday, June 11th at 2pm at the Sugar Creek Rest.

Fish-for-Free Days, being held on May 28th and July 4th, permit anyone to legally fish on Pennsylvania waterways on the designated days with NO FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED (Trout/Salmon and Lake Erie permits are also NOT required). All other fishing regulations still apply.
