ELIGIBILITY: To be eligible to swim the 2014 NSL City Meet, swimmers must swim in two NSL dual meets during the 2014 summer season. Any questions regarding eligibility should be directed to Eligibility chairperson, Colleen Reese.

FEES:$3.00 per individual event

$6.00 per relay event

$4.00 per swimmer surcharge

ENTRY LIMIT: Each swimmer may enter a maximum 4 individual events. Each swimmer may enter a maximum of 2 relay events – one freestyle relay and one medley relay in their age group.

ENTRIES:

  • Swimmer’s competition age is determined as of June 1, 2014.
  • All entries should be submitted using TeamUnify. The event file and instructions are on the website under City Meet tab for developing your team entries.
  • “Relay Only” swimmers must be entered in the meet to be eligible to swim.
  • Entry times must be submitted in yard format, not meters. Times must be to the hundredths of a second. Meters Conversion Calculator:
  • Submit swimmers’ best times. “No Time” entries will not be accepted per NSL rules.
  • Late entries will be accepted up to 60 minutes prior to the start of each age group session but will be subject to “lane availability” after corrections have been made for novice/open entry errors. A late penalty fee of $10 per swimmer, in addition to the entry fees due must be paid the day of the meet to an NSL representative.

RELAYS:

  • All Relay Cards will be in coaches packet available beginning Friday, July 11 at noon.
  • Relay cards are due 60 minutes prior to each relay event. Card must include first and last name of each swimmer.
  • Completed relay cards must be turned into the Meet Check- In Table near the warm down pool.

COACHES:CAREFULLY REVIEW YOUR ENTRY REPORT AS it is each coach’s responsibility to make sure that all swimmers are entered in the correct event with the correct time. In addition, please ensure that all swimmers are entered in the correct NOVICE or OPEN event according to most recent Nashville Swim League Constitution, including amendments.

Tuesday, July 8Additional entries, corrections and changes will be accepted through Tuesday, July 8 at 3:00 pm by email to . After this date, there is a $100 fee per day for team late entry.

SCORING

  • Team scoring will be by division. City Meet Championship Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd places in each division in both 10 and under on Saturday and overall standings on Sunday.
  • Individual scoring will be by age group for novice and open categories. Individual points are accumulated within the novice and open categories separately. There are no crossover points in the City Meet. Individual high point trophies through 5th place will be awarded to each age group by gender in the open and novice categories.
  • Points will be awarded for first through eighth place and will be as follows 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Relays score double points. Medals will be awarded for places one through eight, and ribbons for places nine through sixteen, in each event.
  • All relays will be seeded according to entry times (slowest to fastest), but will be scored by division.

CLERK OF COURSE – Located outside under tents

Make sure that your swimmers understand which tent they are to go to. Clerk of Course is normally a very chaotic area. Please stress to your swimmers that it is of utmost importance that they remain quiet, listen to and follow directions. Coaches, please remind parents that Clerk of Course is a place for swimmers only.

  • Late entries and open/novice entry corrections

  • General questions

FACILITY

  • No outside food or beverages are allowed inside the Sportsplex. No food or beverages are allowed inside the pool area.
  • Two 25-yard 8-lane pools with Colorado Electronic Timing Systems, electronic scoreboards and Touchpad computer scoring.

MISCELLANEOUS:

  • There will be cards for all 6 and under and 7/8 individual events and all relay events. Cards will be given to swimmers at the Clerk of Course tent.
  • Novice events will be numbered as 100 series events. Open events will be numbered as 200 series events. Relays will be numbered in the 300’s. 6 and under events, individual and relays, will be numbered 1 thru 8.
  • Boys & Girls events in any division, may be combined at the discretion of the Meet Referee.
  • Any and all breaks will be at the discretion of the Meet Referee and will be announced during the meet.
  • All relays will be seeded and swum according to their times and scored according to their division
  • Mini-IM may have 3 boys and 3 girls per team entered into this event.
