Course Overview

Spanish III students will read, speak, listen with understanding and write in Spanish.

The course is divided into 6 chapters, that includes:

  • Familia y Comunidades
  • Redes Sociales
  • Ciudadania Global
  • Los Viajes y el Ocio
  • Educacion y Carreras Profesionales
  • Relaciones Personales

For each chapter students will be evaluated with formal and informal evaluations.

Informal Evaluations will have a weight of 45 %

Formal Evaluations will have a weight of 55 %

This criteria is aligned with Alvin ISD grading policies.

Informal Evaluations will consists of Oral Presentations, Daily Assignments and Quizzes.

Formal Evaluations will consists of Projects and Exams

Important Notes

In AP courses no late work is accepted.

If you are absent you must ask for any assignment you missed

Grading System

  • Tests, projects and presentations – 50%
  • Quizes and notebook-30%
  • Homework/class work /participation– 20%
  • LATE WORK: in PAP/AP classes NO late work is accepted. If a project is due on a day you are participating in UIL or you find yourself sick, you MUST have someone turn it in to me or email me copies of the finished presentation. All projects are due at the beginning of class unles

Content

In this chapter students will:

Chapter 1

Tell about the types of families, describing members of a family, differences of a traditional vs modern family, advices for parents, structure of the Hispanic family, How is the hispanic family in the 21st century?

Chapter 2

Do you use social media? Why young people use social media, how have jthe social media evolve, similarities and differences in kthe use of the social media by teenagers of Spain, USA and Central American countries, using the social media responsibly, advantages and disadvantages of using the social media.

Chapter 3

What can young people do to make this world a better place to live, the 21st century citizen and the world, what is a volunteer, how to make a difference in the community, living your dream.

Chapter 4

Knowing a country, Chile’s culture, Exploring Chile, Your habits when you travel, learning how to travel, Spending time with your family, What does Chileans think about people who are lazy.

Chapter 5

What is learning, public and private education, dropping out from school (it’s causes and consequences), High school education and college, how to select a career.

Chapter 6

Who do you love, Parents involvement in son’s decisions, Why are friends valuable. The influence of friends, relationships
