TRAINING with Dr. Becca Johnson

About Dr Johnson

She has been a licensed psychologist for over 25 years, primarily providing counseling and training in the area of sexual abuse. For the past 7 years much of her training has focused on assisting victims of trauma and sex trafficking. Her motto and passion are to "Help the Hurting Heal" and, in recent years, to "Help the Helpers Help".

She is the author of books on child abuse, guilt and anger and have provided training and consultation to numerous organizations working with victims of human trafficking around the world and the USA – especially in the area of Aftercare and emotional restoration.

She helped develop the counseling program (trauma therapy) at Agape Restoration Center, with Don & Bridget Brewster in Cambodia. She has also been involved with trauma and counselingtraining at various shelters for victims of sex trafficking both overseas and in the USA (training for International Justice Mission (IJM) (in India, Guatemala, Bolivia, Kenya, Philippines), Living Waters (Las Vegas), Courage House (California & Tanzania), Hope House (North Carolina), TurnAroundInc (Baltimore), Courage Home (India), All Things New (Oklahoma and Texas), Mission 21 (Rochester, MN)and others). IJM now requires all of their global Aftercare programs to implement the trauma model (TF-CBT) she adapted for human/sex trafficking.

She serves as the Clinical Director of a residential program for adult women survivors of sex trafficking in her home state of Washington (Engedi Refuge). She is also Director of US (Sex Trafficking) Aftercare for AIM (Agape International Mission) and am an Aftercare Associate with IJM as well as being the Consulting Psychologist for Access Freedom. She is a member of the Restorative Shelter Working Group - a consortium of shelters and outreach programs for sex trafficking victims here in the USA. She hasalsoprovided anti-human trafficking and trauma training for Shared Hope International and Not For Sale.

For 20 years she has also been involved with Royal Family KIDS – programs for abused and neglected children (age 7-11), both in the USA and in Chile, South America. She lives north of Seattle.
