Strand 1 – Basic Technology Skills and Applications
What skills, experience, and/or willingness can an administrator model in regards to using technology without having to be an “expert”?
NETS- A – III Productivity and Professional Practice
Educational leaders apply technology to enhance their professional practice and to increase their own productivity and that of others.
ShortRange Plans-I will learn to use Surveymonkey.com in order to the get the opinion of staff on school issues.
Create a Google Documents site and invite staff to join.
MediumRange Plans – Develop a survey and collect results to make a shared leadership decision for something that pertains to all staff.
Post meeting agenda, minutes, and important forms on Google Documents for staff to use.
LongRange Plans – Publish the survey results to staff and the final decision on the school-wide Wiki page.
Use Google Documents to collect exit cards from staff meetings, and monthly school improvement plans.
Strand 2 – Leadership Skills
How will you, as a leader and facilitator, help others focus on a vision that improves student achievement and facilitates continuous professional growth?
NETS A –ILeadership and Vision
Educational leaders inspire a shared vision for comprehensive integration of technology and foster an environment and culture conducive to the realization of that vision.
ShortRange Plans – While recreating the school vision, have staff brainstorm ways they would like to incorporate staff into the school vision, to help our school meet 21st Century Standards.
MediumRange Plans – I will develop a survey on Surveymonkey.com to address needs, strengths, and weaknesses of staff when using technology.
LongRange Plans –I will create a technology committee that contains a various stakeholders. The technology committee we will develop goals for the next year in order to become more technologically advanced and address staff needs based on the Survey Monkey Survey.
NETS A –IILearning and Teaching
Educational leaders ensure that curricular design, instructional strategies, and learning environments integrate appropriate technologies to maximize learning and teaching.
ShortRange Plans –
1. Post various websites on a school-wide Wiki for teachers to find creative ways to integrate technology into their lesson planning. (Intel Education Resources - Thinkfinity resources for teachers - )
2. Analyze the data offered by NWEA assessments and find ways the data can support teacher learning.
MediumRange Plans –
1.Teachers will submit a lesson that integrates technology in order to increase student achievement on the school wiki page.
2. Train teachers on how to use NWEA assessment data to track individual student growth and set goals with students.
LongRange Plans –
1.Teachers can present to the staff about lesson they have conducted that include technology and post lesson plans on the wiki page by content area.
2. Have teachers help students set their own goals by looking at their own assessment data and academic record.
NETS A –IVSupport, Management, and Operations
Educational leaders ensure the integration of technology to support productive systems for learning and administration.
ShortRange Plans – Learn to ask the right questions around technology. Can I do broadcasting? What are the copyright laws?
Learn the terminology of recent technology and programs.
Research the copyright websites on the PbWiki.
MediumRange Plans – Give staff a handout of important technology terms, copyright checklist and copyright laws.
LongRange Plans –Align the school strategic plan with the technology vision in order to allocate resources to technological needs desired by school community.
Provide professional development to help staff understand technology operations.
NETS A –VAssessment and Evaluation
Educational leaders use technology to plan and implement comprehensive systems of effective assessment and evaluation.
ShortRange Plans – Learn about various types of clickers.
MediumRange Plans – Purchase clickers and train staff on how to use them for assessment purposes.
LongRange Plans –The staff will regularly use clickers to assess for learning.
Strand 3 – Social, Legal and Ethical
What systems and resources do you need in place to ensure that available technologies support and enhance the learning environment?
NETSA -VI Social, Legal, and Ethical Issues
Educational leaders understand the social, legal, and ethical issues related to technology and model responsible decision-making related to these issues.
ShortRange Plans –Analyze the social, legal and ethical websites in order to provide useful information to staff.
Medium Range Plans – Prepare a wiki page on the school website that offers the pertinent information teachers need to know about to make responsible decisions around technology.
LongRange Plans- During the budgeting process I will allocate money to allow staff to be trained on social, legal and ethical issues, as well as, have an equitable use of technology within the school.

The limited amount of technology will make it difficult for teachers to integrate technology into their lessons.
Describe your greatest “personal” staff development need(s) in the area of ICT
I need to deepen the level of understanding of the new technological advances such as wikis, blogs, Intel teaching tools, interactive web-sites and interactive lessons.
Describe what you believe to be the greatest staff development need(s) of teachers in your school in the area of ICT
Teachers need to be trained on internet security, copyright laws, the latest technology resources and example lessons that incorporate technology.
