Escape From Kraznir

Chapter 1

I stared out into the darkness. I could see an empty room with a guard at the door, Aragon said,

“I reckon I can take him”

Aragon sneaked up behind the guard and with one swipe the guard was on the ground, we all quickly ran past him. Touchfire quickly turned himself invisible and ran into the food store and wine cellar; we could tell where he was because of the floating food and wine. When he came out he quickly put all the food and wine into the chest, with all the food and wine in the chest it was far to heavy for poor little Frodo to carry anymore. Aragon said,

“How about me and Athor take turns in carrying the chest?”

Aragon picked up the chest and we made a direct exit to the tunnel. The tunnel was so dark you wouldn’t be able to see your hand in front of your face. The floor was even uneven with all the rocks sticking up. Finally we could see light at the end of the tunnel. When we took our first steps out of the tunnel the light was as if we were locked in a dark room for years on end.

“Look! On the other edge of the cliff, there’s a guard!” Frodo whispered.

“I’ll go wait here” announced Athor.

We watched as the footsteps of Athor got closer and closer to the guard and with one big shove the guard went flying over the cliff edge. Once we had all caught up with Athor we carried on our journey to Slinsil. We had to be very careful with one wrong step we could be falling down the cliff edge into the sea.

Chapter 2

The next day we woke up, it was cold and it had been snowing heavily. We could hear noises getting closer and closer every minute, what was it? It was the followers of Krill, what had he sent? Wargs! They looked like massive dogs with fangs like a bat and fur that was jet black and their eyes looked like big green buttons. They came charging and snarling towards us with their big teeth on show and their slobber was hanging down like globs of goo and slime. Immediately Touchfire arose and started hurling bolts of fire at the Wargs, one by one they fell to the ground. After the last one fell the all made a run for it. Aragon and Athor grabbed the chest and staggered after us. Once we were far enough through the trees, I collapsed against a tree. The next thing I knew I woke up and everyone was crowded around me, Frodo had food and wines in his hands which I presumed were out of the chest.

Chapter 3

Finally we got to river Glin; it felt like we had been walking for days. We could see a bright red blur down beside the river.

“A boat!” Frodo yelled.

“Let’s go then!” I screeched.

We ran down to the boat with Athor and Aragon staggering behind us with the chest. We decided to put Aragon, Athor and the chest over the river first. When they got half way over the water started to boil around the boat sending great cascades of water hurtling into the air and turning the water into a seething cauldron of foam and spray. As the rest of us watched on unable to help our friends a giant head popped out of the water, it was staring down at Athor and Aragon in an evil way.

“Krill” I gasped.

All of a sudden the face gave a loud laugh and shouted,

“We will stop you getting back to Slinsil. Watch your backs. Mark my words!”

And then disappeared back into the deep dark river.

“We are fine, we will keep going and I will send Aragon back over with the boat for you” bellowed Athor.

“Okay” Frodo yelled back.

As soon as they reached the bank at the other end of the river Aragon was back over for us in a flash. Every row Aragon made we were waiting for the head to burst back out of the water, but strangely it didn’t, this made us even more worried. The boat journey seemed to last for hours, by the time we reached Athor my legs felt like jelly when I tried to stand but luckily it didn’t take long to get my balance back.

Chapter 4

My tummy had been rumbling ever since we got off the boat.

“I’m hungry” I moaned.

It was getting dark so we decided to call it a day and have something to eat; sadly the only place to set up camp was on a rocky ground. We had slept in worse places before so that didn’t really bother us but it would have been nice to sleep somewhere comfortable for once. Touchfire unloaded the chest and gave each of us some food and wine. Just at that moment there was a fearful noise. Before we knew it we found ourselves face to face with a frightful creature, what had Krill sent now? The creature took a few steps forward and we could just make it out to be a dragon. Touchfire immediately began speaking to it to soothe its anger and made it clear for Aragon to sneak up and kill it with his sword. With one quick swipe the dragon was on the ground making a disturbing wailing noise and with another swipe he was beheaded. None of us wanted to sleep here tonight with the dragon there and it was far too big for us to move on our own, so we walked a bit further into the dark stony desert until poor Frodo couldn’t walk any further.

Chapter 5

We all knew today was going to be tough seen as we had been going for five days now. Frodo is really weak now that he can barely stand on his own two feet and is now getting carried by Athor which means Aragon has to carry the chest himself now. Finally we could see that we were approaching The Forest of Haag.

“Not long now” Touchfire beamed.

“The people of Slinsil have told me about this forest it’s not good” said Athor unsatisfied.

“What now?” I groaned.

“This forest is the home of evil, it’s guarded by the witch Shadira and if anyone tries to pass through she becomes very angry and tries to stop them. Supposedly she can control the trees” Athor stated. We all groaned Shadira was the one thing no one wanted to mess with.

“This isn’t going to be easy” Frodo said wearily.

“We are just going to have to try our best to fight her” Aragon said. We ventured into the forest with our heads held high, if we had got this far surely nothing could stop us now. We were wrong as we got deeper into the forest the trees started swaying wildly. If a branch of a tree got to close Athor would drop the chest and chop the branches with his axe. Perhaps this isn’t going to be as difficult as we expected I thought to myself, I was wrong. For every tree that Athor cut a branch off the tree the forest seemed to get angrier. We decided that the best technique would be to duck and dive, which we thought would be good seen as the branches were up fairly high, but this only worked until we were three quarters the way through because the trees seemed to be getting smaller and smaller until the branches reached the ground with little effort. By that time we could see the exit.

“Run for it!” shouted Touchfire.

We ran and ran and ran until we couldn’t run anymore. Aragon had been hit pretty hard by a branch; he had a massive gash all across his forehead and was bleeding heavily. This seemed to satisfy Shadira and the forest went back to normal, no swaying trees and no branches trying to hit us which was a massive relief. We had to get home quick to get Aragon cleaned up but he didn’t seem to be bothered. As we reached the town of Slinsil all the people in the streets stared cheering and King Garth was standing waiting for us, immediately he summoned his physician to bandage up Aragon’s head and one of his servants to get him some fresh close because his were all stained with blood.

“Your majesty” Touchfire said as he held the war plans high in the air towards King Garth.

“Why thank you sir” he answered gracefully.

The cheers of the bystanders rang through the town. That was our journey it was finally over and we had made it safely back with only a few cuts and bruises.
