Christmas Fayre
Thank you to our amazing PTFA and to everybody who helped to make our Christmas fayre such a special event on Saturday. The atmosphere was lovely and we raised a fantastic £973. The raffle is will be drawn next week. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes – a special mention for Thomson Reuters for the John Lewis hamper valued at £100.
Thank you to Santa and his helpers, especially Heather, Kira, Cleo and Emily.
Thanks to Eva W for cutting the ribbon to open the fayre.
Thank you to Lisa Thwaites for making the fantastic penguin Christmas Cake for "Guess the Weight competition". This was won by Gabriel Little in Year 6.
Snowman at Sunset
Year 1 and 2 were fantastic little singers and actors in their performances of Snowman at Sunset on Tuesday. The moral of the story was ‘work together as a team’ and they relayed it brilliantly.
A Miracle in Town
Our Foundation Stage were remarkable in their performances of A Miracle in Town on Wednesday. They sang and acted beautifully. They made us very proud indeed.
Little Stars
Yesterday a random selection of Year 1 and 2 pupils took part in some filming with ITV’s Calendar. They were asked to share their ideas about Christmas. Short snippets will be shown on Calendar on 22nd and 23rd December, starting at 6:00pm. Longer snippets should be available on the ITV website after the broadcast www.itv.com/news/calendar. Look out for: Eliza, Maddie, Matilda B, Billie O, Olle, Thomas H, Olivia E, Hetty, Annie W, Hannah H, Kian, Matilda T, Huey, Sophie, Sophia, Joe and Harry. They were all brilliant!
Today, Dave from Skip2BFit has been with us. Every class has taken part in skipping or boxercise. It’s been great fun and brilliant exercise. Ask your child all about it.
Christmas Parties
Next week each class will have a Christmas party – please see the dates below.
Year 5 and 6 children should come to school in their uniform and bring their party clothes to change at lunch time.
All other classes can come to school wearing their party clothes in the morning.
Please look out for a letter from your teacher about party food arrangements.
Awards Assembly 2:00pm Next Friday
Please note we will be starting our awards assembly at 2:00pm next Friday and it will include a carol service.
School Choir
On Monday our school choir entertained rail passengers. We sang on the platforms at Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge stations, on the train, in the Jubilee Rooms and in the Shoulder of Mutton. Thanks to the Railway partnership for inviting us to take part and for inviting Santander to attend.
