Boey – Midterm review, Mohawk students had clinical at the same time next time Boey will be in communication with Ray
Alyssa – grad sweater ideas ready for polling, grad photo people in contact
Josh – Dr. Katherine Tomkins will be in contact for funding, first fundraising meeting
Tharshika – asking first year students for filling positions, exam de-stressor program will be planned in future
Sara Rico – jerseys for Nursing Games
Erin – Event on Saturday, November 2 hosted at BP for free, will be advertised on MUNSS website and Facebook groups, 168 McMaster stream, 140 Mohawk Stream, 140 Conestoga Stream students
Chris – CNRE prep course on November 29
Sadia – proposals and budgets to be sent to her for some members or else we will not get funding
CNSA – first fundraising meeting only 3 people showed up, will be more meetings. If you do not participate in meetings, you will not get any funding.
MTV reality TV show “Scrubbing In” issue: CNSA sent a letter from nursing students to have the show cancelled. Also RNAO and ONA involved. 10,000 signatures on the change from the ONA at change.org, but go through ONA
Yuna – has only received social and education committee descriptions, good job! Budget is due to Sadia ASAP. Budgets due.
Student Success Centre: Welcome Week Discussion – Jacob Brodka
- Word cloud impressions before, on Welcome day, and during Welcome Week. Passed around these word clouds.
- Information from surveys is available, 25% of first year students filled out the survey.
- Mohawk and Conestoga students should have programming through MSU.
- Wants to start a focus group about Welcome Week.
- Welcome week training ideas in a conference style, optional sessions and mandatory sessions, for reps that would possibly consider a planning role
Position Filled + Vote of Confidence Update – Education
- Capstone conference for PBL poster or oral presentation
- Education committee is running it
- Expensive symposium
- $500 from MUNSS
- Food from paradise catering
- 500+ students, Chris wants MUNSS to sponsor coffee, $600 for coffee this year
