Course Curriculum
· Traffic Laws, Administrative Laws, Impaired Driving, Traffic Signs Units
· Car basics (changing a tire, checking oil, putting in gas, etc)
· In-car Laboratory Phase
· Written Final Exam
· Driving Final
Academic Expectations
· This class is going to be a pass/fail class. You will have one test and at least 5 in-car driving assessments. Everyone should be able to drive at 7:00am.
· All driving information will be posted on my website at warrencountyschools.org.
· If you are going to miss any part of this class, you MUST let me know ahead of time. Sometimes things happen, so communication is a MUST on both sides.
· Grading: Written final 100pts
In-car driving 100pts each drive
· In-car drives will consist of at least driving the following types of roads: country roads, 4 lane highways, downtown, high traffic areas (bypass/Scottsville Rd), interstate, and the driver’s course.
Class Rules and Expectations
· Be on time.
· Be respectful of others, including the school, teacher, and other students.
Attendance Policy
· Classroom lessons will be conducted 5-7 days with a final at the end of that time. There will be one big written final that will need to be passed before in-class lessons begin.
· You must be able to be here and be on time. In-car drives will begin promptly at 7am and last until about 7:50am.
· Communication with me is a must. I will be glad to communicate with you about any problems or concerns you may have. We have to have great communication to make this class work.
If you follow these rules, you will be successful:
· Relax. I am not trying to fail you or make you nervous.
· Pay attention to what you are doing and to what others are doing.
· Be polite and respectful to others.
· Be organized: observe assignments and due dates.
· Have a good attitude.
