ADMISSION TO AICTE APPROVED FIRST YEAR FULL TIME/PART TIME POST GRADUATE DEGREE COURSE IN MASTER OF ENGINEERING/TECHNOLOGY (M.E./M.TECH.)FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2013-14

Online Applications are invited for PGET-CET 2013 for admission to Admission to AICTEApproved First Year Full Time/Part Time Post Graduate Degree Course in Master Of Engineering/Technology (M.E. /M.Tech.) in the Government/Govt. Aided (including Autonomous), University Managed, University Departments and Unaided Institutes (including Autonomous & Minority) in the Maharashtra State.

PGET-CET 2013 is only for those candidates (both sponsored and non-sponsored) who do not have valid GATE score or who have not attempted GATE examination and wish to seek admission to Post Graduate courses in Master of Engineering/ Technology in the various institutes in the State of Maharashtra.

  • Eligibility Criteria (Basic educational qualification) for appearing to PGET-CET 2013:

Candidate should be an Indian National and who possess Bachelors degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology from an AICTE/MHRD approved institutions, as specified by the concerned University for which admission is being sought to a particular Post graduate course/specialization, with at least 50 % Aggregate marks* (at least 45% marks in case of candidates of Backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra State only)

OR

Appeared** for the final year examination of Bachelors degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology from an AICTE/MHRD approved institutions, as specified by the concerned University for which admission is being sought to a particular Post graduate course/specialization.

  • Eligibility Criteria for Admission through Centralised Admission Process( CAP)
  1. Basic educational qualification as specified above.
  2. Having valid GATE Score in respective qualifying branch

OR

  1. Appeared and secured non-zero marks in the PGET-CET 2013 in respective qualifying branch.

Note:- * - ‘Aggregate marks’ means the grand total of marks obtained by the candidate in subjects based on which the class declaration is made in the particular University from which the candidate is passing the qualifying examination. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the bachelor’s degree would be calculated based on the practice followed by the university/institution from where the candidate has obtained the degree. In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor's degree. In case the university/ institution does not have any scheme for converting CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100. In case the percentage of marks in aggregate comes in fraction then percentage of marks in aggregate shall be rounded off e.g. 44.50-44.99 % shall be rounded to 45% and 44.01- 44.49 % shall be rounded to 44%marks.

**- Candidates appeared for final year examination fulfilling the remaining eligibility criteria will be offered provisional admission subject to the condition that they will pass the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September 2013. if the candidate is failed and has applied for revaluation of the result in such cases the admission to such candidate will be given on provisional basis subject to the condition that he/she will pass the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25th September 2013. Undertaking from such candidates shall be taken for forfeiting the right of admission and fees paid in case of not securing required percentage of marks in qualifying examination. In case, the candidate fails to produce the results of the final year examination on or before 25th September 2013, then admission offered to such candidate will stand automatically cancelled and the fees (tuition, development and other fees) paid by the candidate of the academic year 2013-14 will be forfeited.

  • Filling and submission ofOnline PGET-CET 2013 Application Form
  • It is mandatory for the candidates to fill and submit the Online PGET-CET 2013 Application Form
  • Online PGET-CET 2013 Application Form will be available at the website against the e-payment of the application processing fees, through net bankingfacility available on the web portal.
  • The application form processing fees is Rs. 850/- for Maharashtra State (General Category), NRI and OMS candidates whereas Rs. 650/- for reserved category candidates & Persons with Disability Candidates belonging to Maharashtra State (i.e. Candidates having relevant backward class Caste Certificate and other applicable certificates issued by Maharashtra State authorities). This fee is to be paid through net bankingby Internet Payment, Credit Card/ Debit Card payment gateway or online challan for which the service charges, as per rules, shall be applicable in addition to the application form processing fees This fee is non refundable and non transferable under any circumstances.
  • In order to take the printout of the Online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it ismandatory for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted Application form by himself/herself and such confirmed applications only will be considered valid for further processing.
  • Applications sent by Post/Courier etc. to ARCs/DTE office will be rejected and no communication in this regard will be done with the candidates.
  • Document verification and in-person confirmation of application form at Application From Receipt Centre (ARC)for Admission at the ARC’s given in the following Table as per the Notified schedule.

  • Scheme of Examination PGET-CET 2013
  • PGET-CET 2013 will be conducted ONLINE at all examination centers which will include

multiple choice objective type questions (MCQs). The question paper for the CET will be set in

English only. Translations in any other languages will not be available.

  1. The Online CET would be comprised of one online paper of 100 marks of 90 minutes duration.
  2. PGET-CET 2013 will not have negative mark system. Out of 70 MCQ, 40 questions will carry 1 mark & 30 questions will carry 2 marks each. Unanswered questions will carry zero marks.
  3. PGET-CET 2013 Entrance Examination will be based on the syllabi of respective branches of GATE qualifying examination.
  • Important Note:-
  1. A candidate applying for the PGET-CET 2013 would have the freedom to choose his/her center but shall not have freedom to choose the venue.
  2. Use of non programmable calculators is allowed. However the use of cellular phone, pager etc. is not allowed. Instructions sent to you with the application receipt, books, notes etc. are also not allowed.
  3. Information Brochure with rules and regulations, CAP Rounds, Reporting etc shall be published on website.
