~  Additional support materials, school profiles, or appendices will be discarded.

Goals of the Ed Tech program

The goals of the Ed Tech program are to:

~  Improve student academic achievement in English/language arts, mathematics, science, social sciences, the arts and second languages (world languages) through the use of technology

~  Assist every student – regardless of race, ethnicity, income, geographical location, or disability – in becoming technologically literate by the end of eighth grade

~  Integrate technology into curriculum and instruction through high quality professional development based on relevant research and Oregon’s Instructional Technology Common Curriculum Goals

Who may apply?

Only those districts meeting eligibility requirements will be able to apply. Eligible districts must have high poverty. Priority for funding will go to those districts with component schools in Title I School Improvement status or that demonstrate a high Technology need.

District Eligibility for Ed Tech Competitive Grants 2007

How is eligibility determined?

1.  Poverty – Those districts identified with a percentage of students in poverty that exceeds the State average of 17.48% (column 3) or those districts with greater than 1000 students in poverty (column 2)

2.  LEAs choosing to flex funding from Title IID Formula Subgrants to other Title programs will not be eligible for Title IID competitive funding (column 5)

Priorities:

3.  Districts with schools identified for Title I School Improvement receive priority (column 4)

4.  Districts receiving less than $25,000 in the formula allocation receive priority (column 6)
