Hours:Full-time – 37 hours per week

ROLE PURPOSE:

To support the successful delivery the HESA corporate strategy by delivering effective and engaging communications.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports directly to the Head of Marketing & Communications, part of the Business Transformation Unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

•A focus on web content, presenting information in ways that allow detailed information to be easily consumed and understood.

•Create communications materials in a range of formats (including text, animation, graphics) that can be deployed across a range of HESA’s communications channels

•Ensure relevant website content is up-to-date

•Help put together event presentations and related supporting material

•Contribute content to HESA’s social media accounts

•Ensure communications activity is well written, accurate and consistent

•Support the execution of communications plans across the spread of key projects while workingwithin the overall framework of HESA’s corporate communications strategy.

•Communications-related admin duties as required

PERSON SPECIFICATION

ESSENTIAL

•2 years’ experience in a marketing or communications role

•Educated to degree level, ideally in a communications-related field

•Experience using a CMS system, preferably Drupal.

•Experience of a range of different communications channels

•Write in a clear, concise and engaging way for a range of audiences

•Demonstrate creative skills to find interesting ways of presenting information

ABILITY TO:

•Communicate confidently with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels of seniority

•Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

•Be proactive and innovative in approach

•Plan own workload and work to deadlines

HIGHLY DESIRABLE

•Experience in writing engaging web copy

•Experience of working on technology issues or in a technology-driven organisation
