Mumm de Verzenay

The Blanc de Noirs is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes selected from the Verzenay Grand Cru terroir, a vineyard on the northward slopes of Montagne de Reims. This Pinot Noir is highly distinctive and rich in minerals. It is powerful, elegant and stylish.

Tasting notes: A rich hue flecked with gold highlights. Hints of dried fruit, nougat and coffee on the nose, combined with the sweetness of vanilla. On the palate, the beautifully sustained foretaste matures into an aroma of yellow fruit embellished with hints of honey.

Mumm Rosé

Grapes sourced from up to 77 different crus; 12 to 14% Pinot Noir red wine from Bouzy added; three years on the lees before bottling; The current cuvée is based on the 2008 with around 25% reserve wines from 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004. G.H. Mumm Rosé is described as masculine in style, combining the fruit and finesse of Cordon Rouge with the extra power of more dominant Pinot Noir.

Tasting notes: Intense salmon pink colour, with orange and yellow highlights. Aromas of fresh summer fruits with hints of caramel and vanilla. The palate is dry and fairly austere with flavours of red fruits, caramel and vanilla and a long, powerful, rounded finish.

Mumm Vintage 2004

Pinot Noir from 7 crus: Aӱ, Avenay, Dizy, Bouzy, Verzenay, Verzy, Mailly and Ambonnay; Chardonnay from 2 crus: Avize and Cramant Five years on the lees before bottling. 2004 was an extraordinary year; relatively dry with above average temperatures. Spring was fairly cool with numerous storms and hail in June. July was warm and dry, whilst considerable rain fell in August. Temperatures in autumn, particularly September, were above average, with below-average leading to exceptional grape maturity.

Tasting notes: The Pinot Noirs, with dominant red berry notes, displayed wonderful balance and structure with great ageing potential, which will allow the 2004 to mature gracefully for at least a decade.

Perrier-Jouët Blason Rosé

Grapes are sourced from around 30 different crus; 12 to 15% red wine is added from Aÿ or Vincelles; Minimum 26 months on the lees. The current cuvée is based on the 2007 vintage with 10 to 12% reserve wines.

Tasting notes: Bright pink colour with a light orange tine. A powerful bouquet with ripe red fruit, such as raspberry and wild strawberry, almost jam-like, revealing hints of violet and rose petal. Full, textured and rich in the mouth, with a surprising light and fresh finish.

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque 2004

This is 45% Chardonnay, mostly from Cramant and Avize; Pinot Noir primarily from Montagne Nord, including Mailly and Verzy; Pinot Meunier from Dizy and Venteuil; Six years on the lees before bottling. Perrier-Jouët’s prestige cuvée is a fresh, well-structured wine. Silky and airy, it is described as being truly the epitome of charm and elegance, reflecting the Chardonnays of Cramant and Pinot Noirs of Mailly.

Tasting notes: The 2004 Belle Epoque has notes of brioche and white peaches, and is fresh, open, well balanced and complex.

Ridgeview Bloomsbury 2009

Composition: 58% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, 12% Pinot Meunier.

Tasting note: A light lemon gold colour with a fine persistent mousse. Citrus fruit aromas and a hint of melon and honey. Chardonnay dominance brings finesse, along with crisp fruit freshness and toasty notes. The two Pinot’s add depth and character. A beautifully balanced finish. Will age gracefully over time as the Chardonnay matures.

Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Blanc de Blancs 2002

Chardonnay sourced from two parcels (Bourons-Leroy and Bourons du Midi) of Perrier Jouet vineyards in the heart of Cramant; Eight years on the lees before bottling. The Belle Epoque Blanc de Blanc 2002 is an exceptional vintage Champagne and this is only the fourth vintage ever produced by Perrier-Jouët. Grapes are sourced from two parcels (Bourons-Leroy and Bourons-Dumizy) in the heart of Cramant.

Tasting notes: A beautifully-crafted champagne with citrus, white flowers and honey on the nose. On the palate floral, citrus and tropical fruit character combined with stunning complexity and length.
