Motion to approve the minutes of 8/25, 9/1 and 9/8/15. London Richmond, Aysha Haq seconds. Vote; 5/0/0

V.  OPEN FORUM

Sherry Bex, former A.S. Senator from 2003, raised the issue of the fountain North of the library, which was purchased by A.S. back at that time. The fountain is not working properly, and Sherry Bex would like to propose to the current board that an appropriation be written for $50,000 to fix and maintain the fountain. Sherry Bex would like to see the file folders brought back as a resource for senators about current projects, etc.

VII. DISCUSSION & ACTION ITEMS

A.  Mayor of Walnut, Robert Pacheco – Mayor Pacheco was present today to discuss leadership and his personal experiences

VIII. REPORTS

A.S. Advisor – Andi Sims congratulated everyone on a great job so far. Thanked those who attended recent board meeting. Edwin Romero announced that the Fall Leadership conference deadline was extended to 9/23 at 10am.

A.S. Secretary - Senate interviews will be 9/22 and 9/24. We received 16 applications. Everyone is encouraged but not required to dress as you would in an interview

A.S. President – Rene Jimenez talked about the wifi improvements

A.S. Vice President – Karen Osorio reminded all about Constitution Day this week from 9-1. Also Night Student Appreciation is coming up and the Lost & Found Auction on 9/30

Student Trustee – There is a special Board meeting this week to discuss the solar panels on campus

ICC Report – 1st ICC meeting is Monday 9/21 from 3-4, all are invited. An advisor mixer is on 9/28.

College Committees – Ronnie Escoto reported that the microwaves on campus will be done in about a month. On 10/12 he will get an update

VIII. BOARD COMMUNICATION – London Richmond reported that he is working with Coach Rod about planning some pre and post game shows. Men’s Cross Country is 1st in state and Women’s is 3rd in state. Men’s Soccer #1 in state and conference. Aysha Haq reported that graphic designers are looking for portfolio experience.
