Teacher will instruct students about the music room and behavior expectations.
1. Enter room quietly
2. Find assigned seat

5. Where to go for fire, tornado and intruder drills
Assign seating on the carpet.

Students will echo sing what they hear and imitate motions using a good singing voice.

T This is a hand drum. You make the sound by striking the top or membrane. There are different kinds of rhythm instruments metal, shaker, wood and membrane/drum. Show examples.

Students will keep a steady beat and use their high and low voices on this chant.

Students will be able to identify environmental sounds that keep a beat. Students will be able to keep a beat by tapping with a piece of music. Students will be able to distinguish between beat and rhythm.
